Just saw small pistol primers on gunbroker that were $255 for 1,000 with 8 days of bidding left! I have about 3500 small and 2000 large, left. Guess when they’re gone I’m done reloading, because I am NOT paying .25 plus for a primer! I honestly thought keeping 5000 each on hand would be fine. I was WAY off! This really sucks!

Yes, reloading will pretty much be dead if the total component cost exceeds the factory ammo cost by very much. Only a very few die-hard accuracy buffs will still try to reload.

    I saw $30/ 200 primers at a gunshow recently.

I expect the same this coming weekend at another show.

Recently paid $43/1000 shipped for spp and even that price bugged me.

The last gun show I went to the was one guy proudly selling primers at $200/1000. You had to ask how much since they were out of reach and did not have a price beside them. I told him he could keep them and walked off.

Had a guy at the range this week telling us that he had paid $250/1000 plus shipping/ hazmat for srp on Gunbroker. He acted like he was grateful to find them, almost required stitches in my tongue to stop from commenting.

    It really does suck.

    It's just getting started.
    I'll bet it gets worse.
Ammo prices are worse than reloading items.
    $999. per 1000 223 55gr. LC ?
Only if you can find it................somewhere in stock.
Shortages may be here to stay.

    Lots of primer listings here.

I started hand loading years ago because it was interesting, allowed one to load all kinds of different loads, increase accuracy, and cheap. Looks like I need to pack all that crap up for several years and see what transpires. Ugh!

I guess I need to inventory my primer supply.
Never thought to have more than a few thousand of each size/type.

My guess is Small pistol and Large rifle will be most of my collection.

Maybe I can still get #10 and #11 percussion and some musket caps?

Has anyone heard of Zincpoint.com? They had small pistol primers 3500 count for $490 plus shipping and Hazmat fee yesterday. The website looked so bare bones and some of their info made no sense so I passed.

My girlfriend bought me a turret press kit for christmas which will arrive sometime in Feb or March. I don't plan on reloading my first loads until this time next year or later. I will not be shooting until probably 2022 at this rate and that does not bother me. That's the way it is right now, this is an unprecedented shortage. It's too bad Trump didn't win the Presidency this probably would have been over by March, at this rate we'll be lucky if it's ever over.

Ammunition has always been the "Achilles Heel" to any firearm. In 2001 in Afghanistan there was no 7.62x25 Tokarev to be found as I had borrowed a PPSH-41.

Three thirty round magazines of 7.62x39 was worth more that an Russian AKM.

    Iraq was totally different! Lol!

Look at the various firearms in today's market with "obsolete" cartridges.

For the guys who remember the "Assualt Weapons Ban" ask them how much a glock or AR magazine went for?
