Im looking for a Charter arms but also looking at the Taurus Model 85. the SW's are out of my price range right now.

Looking to carry/truck gun... good shape is a + but wear marks are just fine.

Could buy outright or trade ammo?

Let me know, im in SA

Although I normally carry my P229, in the summertime I do carry my Rossi .357 2in. I would personally stay away from a .38. Just not enough firepower.

    thats the problem..

i go from a Rossi/charter/taurus in the 250-350 range, then go a "little more" for x and then a littlemore for x.. then im back at the s&w 642's out of my range, LOL

Those smith's and Rugers are both around 450ish new (though I think I've seen the 442's for less than $400 at Academy).

They pop up in TGT occasionally for in the 350 range.

I guess I'd get the gun you want. I mean it is "only" a hundred bucks more. : /

I guess my advice is to buy what you really want. if need be, wait and safe up alittle before making purchase.
you'll be much happier in the long run when you buy "what you really wanted" and not have to settle on something
    lesser.
    just my 2 cents

I have two Charter DAO light weight 38 snub nose for my wife and I. This is the hammerless model which will handle the 38 P loads. For close defense and carry it works well due to the weight factor.
