myres.jpg S. D. Myres Saddle Company EL PASO, TEXAS 3" Gun Belt & #445 Side Holster www.vintagegunleather.com www.oldtradingpost.com 888-653-8723 both websites are Old Trading Post, Inc., Companies The Holster in this set is selling for $499.95 and the Belt is selling for $299.95 You can Purchase the Set for $674.95 S. D. Myres Saddle Company 3" Wide Hand Carved FrontierFloral Design Gun Belt in 100% New and unused Condition an absolutely beautifulbelt. This fabulous S. D. Myres SaddleCompany Gun Belt is made from premium Heavy weight Russet Leather which isFully Hand Carved in a Frontier Floral Design including the Billet Strap andBuckle Strap.
The S. D. MyresSaddle Company was World Famous for their Leather Carving and in the early partof the 20th Century they produced the famous $10,000 Saddle, at a time when$10,000 was equal to $50,000 in today's money. In some Coffee Table Art books S. D. Myres Saddle Company Carved LeatherProducts are Pictured as pieces of Art these pieces include Chaps, Saddles andabove all Gun Leather items.
This S. D. MyresSaddle Company 3" Wide Hand Carved Frontier Floral Design Gun Belt measures43" to the center hole on the billet strap and adjusts from 41" atthe smallest setting up to 45" at the largest setting. This incredible Gun Belt is completely ElkHide Lined for that little bit extra gripping power to your waist and as wellthis Belt matches the S. D. Myres Saddle Company Western Jock Strap SideHolster #445 for a Colt or Clone Single Action Army 4 3/4" - 5 1/2"for a Right Hand Shooter with that item number being VGL-SDM445-SAA5.5RH .
It is difficult atbest to date some of S. D. Myres Saddle Company Products because theymaintained their methods of manufacture and their original Maker Mark Cartouchefrom the time they came to El Paso, Texas from Sweetwater, Texas after a firedestroyed everything other than some hand tools and some fixtures. I would date this belt somewhere between theearly 1930s and the mid 1970s with the later being the way I am leaning maybe1960s - 1970s.
Also an S. D. Myres Saddle Company #445 Western Jock Strap SideHolster was the Top of the Line Holster offered in the S. D. Myres SaddleCompany line of Gun Leather & Borer Patrol Equipment. This Fancy Style Jack Strap Holster wasintroduced into the S. D. Myres Saddle Company Line of Gun Leather around 1930and is listed in the 1931 Catalog as a #545, and the #545 holster is also thecover holster for the 1931 Catalog as well. In 1931 you could buy the #545 holster with a suede lining for awhopping $25.00ea. which compared to the price of a normal Floral Carved JockStrap Holster at $5.50ea the #545 would seemvery expensive. The holsters with theRawhide Wrapping were and are extremely labor intensive to make and I know ofonly 1 person who offers this exact style of rawhide wrap on gun leather anylonger.

The S. D. MyresSaddle Company made this model #445 Western Jock Strap Side Holster fromPremium Heavyweight Saddle Skirting Leather in Russet Color and it is linedwith a natural color Elk Hide lining. The Russet Color Saddle Skirting Leather on this fantastic Holster iscompletely Hand Carved in a Floral Design on the Sheath Front, Full Skirt FrontBorder and all of the Sheath Strapping. TheRawhide Wrap is Black to offer a Rich Contrast to the Russet Color Leather andthe hand wrapped rawhide surrounds all of the Holster Sheath, Skirt andStrapping Leather.

The S. D. MyresSaddle Company made this fabulous Western Jock Strap Side Holster #445 to carrya Colt or Clone Single Action Army with a 4 3/4" or 5 1/2" BarrelLength for the Right Hand Shooter. Theinner lining appears to be Elk Hide which is an extremely durable hide and willoutlast Cowhide with the rubbing of the gun cylinder when Drawing andHolstering your Revolver. This awesomeHolster is considered among the most collectible Rawhide Wrap Holsters inexistence because of its Functionality as well as Beauty unlike the H. H.Heiser model #753 Holster which is a Rawhide Wrapped Double Loop Holster whichis among the most beautiful but barely functional.

This #445 WesternJock Strap Side Holster is very difficult to date so we will simply say it wasmade between 1930 when this model was first available through the mid 1970swhen the S. D. Myres Saddle Company closed their doors for good. The El Paso Saddlery was making and sellingthis exact style of Holster from the mid 1970s through the 1990s when it was nolonger a holster they could produce cost effectively and the sales of theholster appeared to drop off significantly this is an extremely labor intensiveholster to produce which everything being done by hand.

Hello, Sorry this was a one time collection we purchased and thought we would show to some Texans we have a good following in Texas for Texas made Products when we get them. That being said we do not maintain a consistent enough of an inventory of these one of a kind items to maintain a sponsorship. We will not impose you folks again, I had no intention of offending anyone Have A Great Day.

Hello, We Design & Make all forms of Gun Leather from our newly designed sub-gun quick release shoulder Holster to a common Huckleberry Shoulder Holster and everything in between. Same FOR Belt Holsters we make anything from a simple but great A W Brill Style Austin Holster to a Fancy H H Heiser 753. Since we own www.vintagegunleather.com along with www.oldtradingpost.com we have owned many of the original patterns from the many great holster makers Myres, Heiser, Brill, Furstnow, Schoellkopf, Padgitt, Meanea, Lawrence, Bohlin etc. through the years, we then can use that knowledge of the leather types used, Patterns used, Thickness of original leathers, Stitching and so on, to replicate the originals as closely as possible. Also with that amount of knowledge we have been able to acquire through the years we now design Gun Leather for Military Special Operations, Law Enforcement and lately quite a bit for the movie, Television and Stage industries Westerns, Military or Various Action Adventure Projects. If it is made from leather we will make it and we will make it as good or better then anyone else with an emphasis on Saddlery & Sporting Good Leather.
