    those are pulse jets, pretty simple make bg power, but you have very little throttle control if any. they use metal "valves to let air in and they have a constant flow of fuel they need a spark to start but after that they "self detonate" i guess you would call it. Their similar to what V-2 rockets had I believe.

    I remember one of the teams actually building one of those pulse jets on the old Junkyard Wars show...cool stuff.

    The V-1 used the pulse jet. It was kind of the first cruise missile. The V-2 was a liquid fueled rocket, the first ballistic missile.
