    I came across this picture of sailors on the Yangtze patrol. Looks like two Thompson’s, a BAR, a Winchester 97 (I think), and the guy in the back right appears to have a Lewis gun. Pretty cool stuff. I’m going to have to watch the Sand Pebbles again.

    Interesting in that in the book "The Sand Pebbles" the author who served in China mentions several times that the U.S. sailors got their pay in Mexican silver. The Royal Navy gunboat is named the HMS Woodcock which our sailors called the "Timberdick" and the Brits did not get the joke.
