    He's got a point about the AF swords thing. The AF didn't even exist when swords were useful.

    Why they would use ceremonial swords is beyond me. This is the organization that keeps trying to insist that fighters don't need guns anymore. :p

    Ceremonial swords is military tradition. Combat swords is just plain stupid. :)

    Well, you have to figure this is from the people who think that an aircraft that solely drops bombs and has no capability to fire missles or fire guns is a "fighter". Obviously their perspectives are warped.

    The thing is that ceremonial sword drill is evolved from combat drill. Bayonet drill is something else that's going to go the ceremonial-only route eventually. Probably fairly soon, since an M4 makes a really crappy spear...

    Combat swords are especially dumb when you're talking about people who aren't cavalry swinging sabers. Point beats edge!
