Went through some mags I've left loaded a few years
2 or 3 windowed pmags you have to force into the magwell
And of course won't drop free.
    1 non windowed- same same.
    I unloaded them and they're still stretched. I think they're gen 3
I noticed on my Aug pmags there's a re-enforcing rib near the top that runs horizontally. Hopefully I won't have the same issue.
FWIW my 40rd pmags are fine and drop free fast

    Yep, I prefer metal mags.

So much more fun when the feed lips start to give and it barfs all the rounds out when you slap the mag in.

Never had an issue either way when it comes to stretching and only had the feeding issue once with metal that was left loaded. Although overall I’ve had for more problems from metal mags than Pmags.

Only problems I’ve ever had with PMags of any sort was breaking the lip at the top. Discovered it after trying to figure out why I’d get an FTF on every round in that mag.

Of course this was during a qual, so I tossed it aside until I could figure it out later.

Knowing the abuse those mags took, I’m satisfied with them.

I've had several hundred USGI mags over the years, some loaded for a couple of the. No issues. Never could get to like pmags. Some broke if fully loaded dropped/ejected on concrete while standing. Their followers are the sheit though.

It can happen with older PMAGs, newer ones have little internal ribs that prevent this.

If your mags don't have the ribs, use the dust cover

Or just buy some lancer L5AWM's
