I got another flight in this afternoon

I got it up to 125 over the house and just moved around over the back and front yard.
I took some video this time, pretty nice quality.

I'm gonna take it out tomorrow where I can really let it go a bit.

Try to get the compass calibrated. Compass issues are probably the most common cause of fly aways.

If it didn't do it the first time you're probably ok, but it's an expensive risk. Should only need to do it one unless you travel a pretty good distance with it.

compass calibration was a breeze
I did it before each flight so far

there is some difference of opinion there as to whether it is needed before each time or not

I just cannot believe how stable this thing is

I took it up over the neighborhood and let go of the stick and it just stays there. Steady

amazing machine.

Ok, saw you mention not finding it in the first flight post and wasn't sure you got it.

And yeah, it's pretty amazing the amount of tech they've crammed in to that little plastic case.

yeah, there is a seperate calibration that you do one time, IMU or something like that
its for the inertia and g force sensors, I was getting the two mixed up

lots to learn.

I got 2 more 5-10 min flights in today
One over my house and one at a city park

I'm staying in beginner mode so it limits your range and altitude but it is a good place to stay and learn
There is also a simulator feature in the AP I need to learn how to use

I'm hoping to fly mine again today but the wind is gusting to 22 mph right now
its supposed to die down in a few hours so we'll see, I may get a sunset flight

Yeah, I've read of people flying in 25+mph winds but never tried to push mine like that. Usually try to keep it on the ground in winds over 15 or so.

Ouch! ;) Santy brought me a beginner drone for Christmas, so now I've got this 135 pages of comment/expertise thread to read up on.

When I want gun info, I go to a gun forum.
When I want car info, I go to a car forum. ;)

Already a family looking for their "white drone" that flew away today they got as a Christmas present. Wind is stiff here so I bet the kid got too high.
My daughter did the same thing. Hers is a small cheap one but we tracked it down laying in the street after searching every tree on the block.

My son and I got drones too. Ours are good starters. Both in the $100 range.

Wind kicked our butts too flying them.

I bought an aluminum case for mine today. I wanted one big enough that you could leave the props on it
