I could have used barbed wire for a more Mad Max look.At least wrap it in duct tape. Jeez.....
Sounds like you're good to go. I'd probably use 3/4 oz shot if you're shooting for shits and grins but that's just a personal preference.2 1/2 drams and I used a scoop a little smaller than that.
Not for lefties.

I have a 16 guage that had this "fix" by my dad.
I took it off (big mistake) and that thing pinched the living crap out of my hand.
Bass Pro at the gun counter. You have to ask for it.Lit off the 2 shells I had today and it went fine. Not a lot of smoke with triple 7 though. I think I will find real BP!
When I shot matches with BP I'd get that sort of discoloration. I'd take an old plastic peanut jar with water and a bit of vinegar and put the spent cases in it right a way and that would cut down on the staining. No, the base is fine.
They are in the tumbler with some other brass right now. When I shot matches with BP I'd get that sort of discoloration. I'd take an old plastic peanut jar with water and a bit of vinegar and put the spent cases in it right a way and that would cut down on the staining.
With BP there is a residue that will react with the brass and create a stain. Some guy gave me a container like this that would easily hold 25 shot shells and 100 45 Colt cases. It was real handy but unfortunately it was without the nuts.I'll do that next time. There are a couple of spots on these that look off just throwing them in the tumbler.
There is some evidence that it does but it is not scientifically proven.Does the nut residue create a better environment for storing BP shells?
