I've bought, sold, and traded guns for 40+yrs.
There are maybe three or four that will be kept forever.
Regret selling one or two but most had their time and were traded on.
Honestly I enjoy the tinkering getting them to run right thing the most.
That explains your love for 1911s....
BOOM!
I belive when talking about 1911's, the proper terminology is "click"
My wife and I made an agreement to not bother me about it. I keep a spreadsheet, too. I still won’t tell her what they are worth.
Worth? Or how much you paid for it?I keep an updated inventory, including totaling the values. Better half KNOWS better than to say a word - not only does she love guns almost as much as I do, but I also keep an inventory of her jewelry. Y'all have ANY idea what a 300-ct emerald is worth???
Worth? Or how much you paid for it?
You didn't say modding. You said getting them to run right. You don't like modding your guns at all right?

One can often find good deals at an auction, but having worked with jewelry I know the mark up on jewelry. You know women - funny thing is, bought it at an auction. A jeweler that had screwed up and missed that it was being sold offered her (literally) 50 times what we paid for it. Told her it was up to her - I bought it for her, so she could do whatever she wished. Man - did *I* make points that day! She kept it, and I get to remind her of it whenever she talks about me buying another gun......lol

Certainly, either that or a very bad jeweler.Oh, yeah - it's crazy!! That's why we buy most of ours at auctions. But, since it was a jeweler that made the offer to buy the stone, I figgered we were "into it" at a pretty decent price.....lol
Out of the 8 or so 1911’s you brought out last weekend, how many malfunctions were there? Was it zero or nada or nil? Refresh my memory since I ran a few mags through each and got distracted by the childlike ease of putting rounds on target.
