AMOK! Fusing Knife & Pistol Tactics Seminar
Taught by Tom Sotis
Hosted by the Payne Defense Academy July 09-10, 2016
Orange, Texas
Tom will cover the key elements from the 2015 seminars so everyone has a chance to hone those essential core skills that are then expanded upon and put to the FoF test on day two.
SATURDAY
Accessing During Changing Attacks
You will improve your performance at accessing your knife or pistol while under committed knife attacks that change from jabs, to single strikes, or combinations, to full-on attacks, and when his free hand grabs at you too.
Counter-Striking
Learn the two actions which form the basis for all weapon-to-weapon fighting making it forever "simple" to you no matter how chaotic and complex it gets.
Merging Pistol & Knife Tactics
You will learn to employ your pistol, using knife-based-actions, as a blunt instrument to parry and strike, and how to shoot without exchanging shots for stabs under chaotic frenzied attacks.
SUNDAY
FoF Pistol vs Knife Attacks
These are challenging activities where you will use your empty hands, knife, and/or pistol skills to solve common knife attacks. These activities reveal the truth of the task and what it takes to solve it.
Struggling
We will practice Gun Retention when it is in your holster and retention should someone grab your drawn weapon. Finally you will practice Pistol Disarming against single and double-hand grips.

Training and Gear
1) We provide Nok Safety Trainers for the workshop, and color Certificates for participants to keep.
2) We suggest you bring your own mouth guard and eye protection designed to absorb light contact (shooting glasses are not good for this – look for something that contour-fits your face to spread impact)
3) Bring a notebook and pens. No photos, videos, or recording devices of any kind are permitted.
4) Optional – wear your holster, spare mags, and training gun.
5) No live blades or ammunition permitted in the training area.
6) We highly recommend forearm protection – ideally use neoprene THIGH wraps because they encircle your entire forearm twice. Guards with a hard plastic shell are not permitted because they can injure your practice partners. You will enjoy the straight-through info-packed 4-hour format with 5-minute water breaks during which Tom presents methodology so every minute is used productively (same training time as a 7 hour day with 15 minutes breaks and lunch hour).
LIMITED TO 24 StudentsThe cost of the seminar is $300.00 -
