Looking for a place where it's not too expensive to test out at least 5. North Dallas location.

I buy them, and if they not what I expected, I sell them.
The money I lose from bought price, to sold price, is the rental fee...
I've had a few, that I actually made money on.
(back when I had an FFL, ATF, please don't shoot my cat)

Texas Gun Experience in Grapevine has the top five self defense handguns available to rent. They rent Colt 1911s, Springfield 1911s, Ruger 1911s, Kimber 1911s, and if you don’t mind an external extractor, Smith and Wesson 1911s. After you decide you can make your purchase there as well.

Eagle Range rents gun for $5 all day but you have to buy one box of their ammo. I've rented maybe a dozen guns from them. They're in Dallas, Lewisville & Farmers Branch. Their website lists the guns they rent.

If you're in the Waco Area, Heart of Texas Shooting Center and Republic Gun Club have a decent variety of rentals...not to mention excellent ranges and staff.

Range USA rentals are free if you are a member. Selection is sometimes sparse, but I have saved a lot of money renting something I thought I liked.

PM me and we can go to Mission Ridge Range & Academy. It’s the nicest place around. Near Coit and the Bush Tollway. Lots of weapons to try and I can get you in for free (you still have to rent the guns).
And you can shoot an Atlas Erebus.
