    I have been keeping track of this story the last two days, and I swear, this "sub" is straight from Harbor Freight.

    In this link, it is discussed how a former engineer was fired for questioning the safety of the project. Also how the company refused to "class" the craft with independent technical inspectors, a standard in the sub industry.

    In the posted video at the 3:47 mark, the construction is discussed, how they glued the titanium part to the carbon fiber section.
    And at the 5 minute mark, the CEO discussed his "philosophy" on hiring sub operators.

    Let’s say they’re in bobber mode, safe and sound. They’re still captive to the CO2 scrubbers for breathable air while getting tossed about with zero directional control in the wave tops.

    Imagine the interpersonal dynamics going on in there in that scenario.
