My son works security at Lake Cherokee and brought home a through out. He is an 8 month old Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighs about 80 lbs right now. He is going to be a big dog and needs a lot of room to roam. He is very smart and already knows to sit and stay, so whoever had him, taught him a few things. I took him walking and he stayed right by my side without a leash. I would keep him, but I don't have the room and already have a bunch of animals at the house. Come on TGT, someone give this dog a good home.

Ooops, forgot to give location, I live in the Gladewater/White Oak/Longview area.

Looks maybe Anatolia and Lab mix. Gorgeous dog. I don't have room but I will ask around. Any bad habits someone needs to know about? Food aggresion, good with kids, etc....

No really bad habits, at first he was aggressive with food with our other dog, but think that was due to him not having a stable food supply. He gets along with my other dog now and they play good together, but for some reason, he likes to aggravate one of our rabbits, we have several in boxes in the yard, but only barks at one. Good with kids? Probably, he is very mild tempered, loving and wants attention constantly. He is a digger and a chewer, but that's mostly due to him still being a pup, even at 8 months old. The chewing may be separation issues, that's what the vet told my son any ways. Also, my son did get his first set of shots.

    In the woods...
99 miles from my place. I’m giving it some thought. I have recently gone back to work and have a neighbor taking care of my ridgeback (in, out, playing) during the day.

Let me think on it. He would be an outside dog for me. I don’t know if that is a factor in offering him a “good” home. He would have the roam of 30 acres with the nearest neighbor 1/2 mile away.

I want to think this through before i say “yes”.

Most of the dogs I've owned would have loved to have had acres to roam.

I think he would def would have to be an outdoor dog, we keep him outside now. My definition of good home, would be someone that would take care of the dog and give him plenty of love, as he is a very loving dog. Large acreage would be a plus, but not a condition.

For those that are interested and live a ways off, I am willing to meet half way or so to around 60 miles, maybe more.
