At my age (75), just had a great road trip with my much younger bride to Bossier City. That spells casino to most folks. Having been our first casino trip together where she taught me the evils of the Craps table years ago, we returned to the scene of the crime at Horseshoe. We moved on from there to Vegas including a wedding hitch there and wanted a return visit to Horseshoe this weekend. Our memory lane down I-20 included all the maniac NASCAR wannabees bumper to bumper going way past posted speed limits. Of course I hugged the right lane and shook my head at them. Jumping off at Terrell exit to travel on the old Hwy 80 has always been a great relief from that BS, time slows down. The old farm towns we drive thru that the railroad followed are like a step back in time. The DQ in Mineola is a must visit as usual. We walked in, was lunch time, all the folks seemed so dadgum friendly, smiled and said howdy. No, this wasn't the Dallas suburbia we just left for sure. Along the way down 80 we saw lots and lots of Trump signs everywhere. We stopped at a few places after the DQ for gas or a pit stop and saw the same, just plain honest folks like us whom we felt very comfortable with. We finally jumped back on the Interstate to complete the journey and the pitstop was very interesting, still in Texas. The obviously very must stop for travelers, lots of gas pumps, eats and restrooms, not Buccees. The Mens restroom was being cleaned, blocked off as they did many times each day, very busy. A few of us guys grumped and waited in short line but one guy went to the girls restroom and tried to enter. A guy in our line immediately grabbed him and said he had two daughters in there age 12 and 17, you're not going in there. The guy said "I identify as a woman so I can go in there". Other guy yelled "I identify as the MF who is going to kick your ass if you try". One of the employee girls working said aloud to the perv "we don't play that in Texas". And we hadn't even made it to the casino yet. Love Texas ...

The casino can provide good stories too. Last time I visited one, some hyped-up guy walked into the bathroom carrying a cup. I was at the urinal and he happily asked if I could pee into a cup for his drug test. I just smiled and said my pee isn't clean.
