I’ve shopped at that mall at least a dozen times. Almost went today.
Really drives home the reality that we know:

No, just a bunch of idiot teens running through the mall saying there was a shooter. Mall was emptied and nothing found. I'm sure there will be some school threats on Monday since everyone is on edge and teens can be pretty stupid.
The shooter was a nut case, people saying he always wore black security clothing, even though he didn't work security.
Was kitted out with a lot of mags.
When Police went to residence, no one spoke spanish, and they had to bring an interpreter.
These are sections of a screen shot of one of the videos that was up on Twitter, don't know if they are still there or not.
Video of the dead people were disturbing, so they may be gone now.
Wish the officer who took him down would have used 12 ga bird shot to the nuts, so this low-life would have suffered before bleeding out.
Head shot was too good for him.

I’ve been thinking about this one. It’s easy to think if you were there, you’d charge towards the gun fire, pull your 365XL with holosun out of your crossbreed holster and return fire.
But as a civilian, I have no real idea how I would respond. It could have been over in 5 minutes, and you wouldn’t have had time (unless you were immediately at scene).
Are you going to take your micro compact 9mm against a guy with a long gun and body armor?
With presumably a lot of Texans exercising their 2nd amendment, why didn’t this reaction come from a civilian? Easy to ask that question after the fact in the comfort of my own home, I know.

I've never been in the military, or law enforcement, but I was raised to get involved.
When I was like 6 years old, I watched my old man run out the front door in boxers, and a T-shirt, and tie into a couple of old time hoodlums (black leather jackets & all) in the middle of the night.
Shit didn't go down in our neighborhood.
Had to do the same a few times, both armed, and unarmed.
Wasn't it Roosevelt who said "The only thing you have to fear, is fear it's self"?
Can't say I really thought about it, just seemed to be the right thing to do.

It wasn’t a dash cam, it was a rear view camera. Probably had very little idea what was going on behind him.

Thanks, I had that figured out when I posted the twitter dash/rear cam video and could see that. Initially, it was just showing up in helicopter shots, but without explanation.
