Reminder. . . . . .

This young Wildlife Officer was murdered by an idiot, who was later executed for his crime.

I didn’t know this Officer, but we had a couple mutual Friends & it happened near Wife’s hometown, so I heard several versions.

Hurst was a Graduate Game Biologist and a “Rookie” Wildlife Officer, who left behind a young Wife & Baby.

Sad deal all-around.

I have a Nephew-om-law who is a Game Warden who is currently fighting a serious cancer problem.

They have two young boys.

The Hurst incident was several years back.

IIRC, he initiated pursuit, got gunfire from perp, called for & got abundant heavily-armed backup from area agencies.

He could have broken-off & let others handle it; but continued into active rifle fight w/ sidearm & was killed.

There is a sad lesson in this story,

Being a LEO’s Dad makes me extra concerned.
