Mexico does not have to invade militarily.....

All they would have to do is amass tens of thousands civilians along the border and simply walk across. Who is going to shoot women and children? The Feds/Border Patrol? We would be overwhelmed because we don't take the Border security serious. It would be a nightmare.....before we knew what was happening The Pres. would sign a E.O. and they would be here to stay.....<sarcasm>

I could have sworn that during Rita, they had Texas state guard walking around the Red Cross shelter with m-4's.

OK, another old thread which has some misinformation in it...

While the TXSG was established as a State Defense Force during WWII, its primary missions today are emergency management, medical and a slew of special missions (SAR, engineering, boat teams, etc.). It no longer has separate components (i.e., maritime, air and ground) but is consolidated under an Army/ground structure. Service is typically non-paid but there are opportunities to be on State Active Duty (SAD) which pays a daily per diem ($151 regardless of rank). There is no rank pay unless you are a fulltime state employee with the TXSG (for very limited positions, such as recruiters). TXSG servicemembers can deploy to Operation LONE STAR - BORDER SURGE in support, non-armed duties and make approximately $87K/yr regardless of rank.

Feel free to PM me with any questions...

The Texas State Guard, along with the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air Guard, comprise the Texas Military Department. The TXSG provides mission ready military forces to assist state and local authorities in state emergencies,
conduct homeland security and community services and augment the Texas National Guard Air National Guard when required.

Texas state Militia already exists. The Texas Militia, and the Texas State Guard. Both separate from the national guard.

<>

Exactly, neither is “new”.

Texas has long & storied history of ad-hoc self defense units, and several types of “home guard” outfits.

I recall that the “Bush Intercontinental Airport” has armed outside-the-fence volunteer citizen security patrols, some mounted equestrian, on a regular basis.

Our Nation’s Founders records told of a semi-permanent Citizen Militia, composed of ALL able men with arms. Early Texas had same, and service was expected, not optional.

see:

“I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few public officials.” George Mason

Our Ancestors didn’t hide behind locked doors and call “911” while their neighbors were under attack.

We must UNITE for the current crisis. Put minor divisions away, concentrate on our real and threatening “enemies. both foreign & domestic” !
