Well I went out and shot the practice targets this morning with AkMike at Shooter's Station new indoor range. This was a very humbling experience. Keep in mind, I didn't set the point breaks for what classifies an "expert" vs. "rookie". Granted these were my first attempts at practice targets, but I decided to post them anyway so people can get a feel for this. Get ready to be tested waaaaay harder than you expected. Here is example of how to post score(once again these are my first practice targets, not the official). As you can see I had to modify my score once I saw the target in a better light and clearer frame of mind:

    95 points - 0X
Anschutz Model 54MS 22lr (single shot) with 12x Leupold Scope
    Federal 40gr Blue Box Bulk
25 yards/Bench (Front Bag Only, Improvised rear bag was a pistol case)
    Indoor- 0 Wind
Attempting to attain "Marksman" status at 25 yards

***EDIT: I noticed I incorrectly scored a 9 in the bottom right where I should have had an 8****

Indoor- 0 Wind. But AKMike was shooting the 45 next to me and the bench shook when he would bring his target back in. I had to rush a few shots b/c the AC repair guy was there. I stopped mid target for them to work on A/C, then shot the remainder 20 minutes later. Not ideal for practice.

OK, I have to ask, what its the second number in the score..... - 0X

If you hit the 10 ring in such a way that it makes it disappear ENTIRELY, that is a bullseye. The "X" part of the score signifies bullseye. You can see where I initially gave myself credit, but upon further review I over ruled myself.

Scott, I just noticed this is called a Rimfire challenge, I don't see anywhere that it specifies .22s.
Does this mean I could use my 5mm?

What is the diameter of the "bullseye"?

ETA: Different printers could print different sizes."?

Very small. Print one of the targets and you will see its smaller than it looks. I'm not sure on the whole diff printers thing, maybe that can happen. I hope people wouldnt do it on purpose to cheat. This is honor system so....

Yes, its a rimfire target. All rimfire welcome. The group that I borrowed this target from has different classifications of rifles. I knew that would bring way too much confusion if I set that up here. They also have ammo restrictions and other restrictions I opted not to add. I just assumed most folks would shoot this with a 22. I know a few folks may use a 17hmr. None of that bothers me. If it starts to become an issue, we can divide this up into gun classifications. I'm just trying to put together something simple that we can all play.

BTW, I forgot to mention... In addition to being frustrating as hell, this was extremely fun shooting these targets. I like this challenge. It's very difficult, but not impossible. Certainly rounds larger than 22 will have an easier time. A bunch of other factors will play in as well, but I can tell this is going to force me to be a better shooter.

Game on boys. Just walked out of the store with a new Savage 93R17 BTVS in .17hmr (.17 hmr version of MKII BTVS) with a bipod and 6-24x40mm adjustable parallax scope. Go big, then go home.

Honestly this will probably just highlight my flaws as a shooter. Lol
