I remember hunting for a Bronco in ...ugh it was 1990 in Tucson. My buddy wanted one, and we found a nice one in classifieds, so went to see it. Guy was standing there eating a fried chicken leg, and he goes: " I'll start talking to you for around 5 grand". Chicken-eatin sonofabitch,we used to joke about.
We didn't get that one, but he found a pristine one for $3500...that we hacked the fenders, lifted, rebuilt the motor, we painted in my driveway.
He was so proud of that truck. We'd see International Scouts driving around, and he'd go" ah, couldn't get a Bronco!" lol.
When I lived in Phoenix in the early nineties, a couple of ironworkers on the project I was on had a bronco and a scout with the 1/2 cab. Both were clean and lifted. Nice rigs.
