So I came to possess a box of various knives and assorted random things. I’ve identified some fairly well but hoping to get as much info as I can and any info someone might provide on the rest. Appreciate any knowledge anyone has to share.

Nothing is for sale, but I would be interested in value in terms of long term storage and whatnot. Also, I’d like to clean some of it up without causing damage. If Brasso and a soft cloth would be a bad idea on any of it please let me know.

Pics and available info to come in the following posts

This one best I can tell is WW2 vintage Navy utility knife. Stamped USN Mk 1 on one side, Roberson (something unreadable) over No 20 on the other.

This is one I’d really like to clean up the blade an pummel on. Looks like it’s spent a lot of time in the leather.

Any other info about production runs or more specific dating would be appreciated.

Next up, another WW2 piece. Navy fighting knife. Guard is stamped USN MK2 on one side, RCC (Robertson Cutlery company) on the other. Sheath is stamped U S N MK 2

Some wear from sharpening it looks like, but in overal good condition. Probably just try to clean this one up with some dawn soap and water.

This one appears to be a WW2 era Swedish Officers dagger. Looks like the nickel plating is worn from the tip and some corrosion on the hilt. Would like to clean it up with Brasso if it won’t cause harm.

    Germany Next.

Both made by Othello/Anton Wengen Jr. No idea on age.

Top is the fork from a carving set. No knife. No visible markings. Handle has small crack.

Other is a throwing knife. One side of blade has a guys head and Othello stamp. Other side has Anton Wengen Jr. Solingen Germany stamped on both sides.

Buck Yachtsman. I think I narrowed this one down to somewhere between 1972-1986.

Pretty sure this is just a cheap knife. Laser etched blade says new to me. Idk. Couldn’t find much on it

Chatillon’s Balance No2 50lb scale. Looking online it seems the pat date are used for dating these which would put this one at 1892.

Not sure if the red paint on the back is original or not.

And no idea on those. Heavy lead weight in a rope. Maybe connected to the navy knives? I believe the father of the previous owner of these items was in the Navy and his age would fit WW2. But no clue on this.

Lead weight on rope a type of monkey fist? Could be used for weighing down rope to throw? I’d hate to be on the receiving side and it would cause damage……just a thought
I had Someone else mention the same thing. I know nothing of naval operations so I guess that’s probably about right.
