469 has been around since July 1999. Many landlines and locals have 469 numbers. It also seems like many of the imports to the area keep their previous area codesStill sore I had to give up my nice 214 number when somehow spammers got ahold of it and called it 24/7. Oh well. 972 is still better than 469 or 945. That's how you can tell someone just popped in from California. And don't talk to me about 682 or 940, brrrrrrrr...
What is this "landline" of which you speak???469 has been around since July 1999. Many landlines and locals have 469 numbers. It also seems like many of the imports to the area keep their previous area codes
I have a 214 personal number, but 469 work cell.
It seems like it was longer ago, but 972 only was created in 1996.
Why would one area code be "better" than another? As long as it works, what difference would it make? Just curious.
I dunno. I'm pretty partial to my 469 number (I got a pretty sweet one) but I miss my old 210 and 512...469 has been around since July 1999. Many landlines and locals have 469 numbers. It also seems like many of the imports to the area keep their previous area codes

I grew up in Wise county, and we always had an 817 area code until sometime in the 90's when they changed everyone over to 940 because Ft Worth was running out of phone numbers in the 817 area code.Still sore I had to give up my nice 214 number when somehow spammers got ahold of it and called it 24/7. I miss phone books. Soaked overnight in water they were great for ammo penetration testsThe new phone books are here!
I remember phone numbers that started with a name.... but I am old.
