Not surprised, LTC permits drop a lot after permitless carry goes into effect

This is just one thing that needs fixing with the permitless carry law - doing away with the other restrictions on location also needs fixed. Its a bullshit second-class citizen type system for those who elect not to pay the king his dues to exercise a right.

if you’re lawfully carrying without a permit and you have a blood alcohol content above 0.01%, you can face arrest. If you have a valid carry license, however, you’re not considered intoxicated unless your BAC is 0.08 or more.

Interesting, my LA CHL is still valid through the end of this year but I'll be moving from TX in July...hopefully to somewhere who is just as 2nd amendment friendly as this place.

The time I have saved by having the LTC more than makes up for the time and cost of maintaining it. The only place it does not save time is at the BX. I have been told that is because the base commander decided the local BX can't accept the LTC in place of the call. Does anyone know if that is true or not?

the drop in carry permits prove you can't fix stupid and they will do stupid when given that option.

How is someone availing themselves of their right to carry without the government permission slip "stupid" - there are a couple neat perks to the carry permit - the lack of BGC submission, carrying in a few more places, and reciprocity with some states - but it is somehow "stupid" for those who don't choose to get the permit?

For fucks sake STFU

Guessing that since you didn't direct quote me on that, you're intending that for the author I quoted? I went back and re-read the text of the bill as passed and I don't see the word "intoxicated" "inebriated" "drunk" or any synonyms in the bill - though the word "alcohol" appears about a dozen times in relation to premises that serve alcohol.

I dunno where the author of said article came up with that figure - 46.02 talks about carrying while intoxicated but it seems to be talking about license holders, not permitless carry. There is also no BAC standard I could find listed in that statute.

Randolph AFB and Ft Hood do not accept it either. It’s an AAFES thing

I'll keep renewing too, but mostly because I already have the LTC... I've really liked using it for purchases over the past 5 or 6 years, but all things considered, I probably won't be purchasing as many guns in the future.

I think that if I didn't already have the LTC, I wouldn't bother getting it.
