Since it stay's in the water, with no cover, finally installed an auto bilge pump in my little 15' hack, old Jon boat, used mostly for shore line fishing and as a shad boat in the cove. (port side transom corner, where the rain water gets deepest).
Not much confidence in the auto part ... we'll see.
Would be nice not to have to go out to the dock and bail in the wee hours.
