Not trying be too political, but I'm curious as to what ya'll think about how much longer 'till the tension in this country boils over and we have a serious threat of states seceding or people revolting? I personally believe at the rate our rights are being stripped away along with the growing division among political ideologies that we are in a legitimate crisis.

    What ya'll think? :ohnoes:

I agree that we are in a huge crisis. Unfortunately, I also think that the biggest crisis is a combination of apathy and ignorance in probably 80% of the citizens of our country. Too many folks that really do not know a darn thing about how our government is supposed to operate, or about the constitution. And the worst part about that is that those people don't give a damn.
As for the subject of the original post, I think that some sort of major change is sorely needed in this country to get us back on the right course. But I also doubt that it will happen.

I also doubt the correct change will come. If I live to be 75 yrs old, I estimate we will be down to a B- credit rating, China will be the only Super Power and a decline will continue for another 40 - 50 years. The world is an ever changing globe.

Everything crumbles at about the 500 year mark...

I agree completely. It is pretty disgusting to see that no one in this country gives a damn about all the messed up things going on.

We have kook judges that rule that tax payers have to pick up the tab for criminals sex change operations. Judges reverse the will of the people in states like Kalifornia when they vote to keep marriage between a man and a woman. The 4th amendment is in tatters with all the govt surveillance going on, and the TSA. The 1st Amendment is under attack, the 2nd is always in danger. It's only a matter of time before liberal activist judges dismantle the Constitution entirely. Then there will have to be civil disobedience. Are millions of people going to let a couple of kook judges tell them the 1st or 2nd or whatever amendment doesn't exist anymore, because they came up with some bullshit legal opinion? The govt is subject to the will of the people. Not the other way around. That's the founding principle of this country. People will have to rise up and refuse to obey, or decide to cower in fear and become slaves to the govt. We'll see.

Honestly I don't see how the US stays united. Half the county wants socialism and govt control over everything. The other half wants freedom, individual liberty, and minimal govt involvement in your life. Those two things are total opposites. I think states should be allowed to go full on communist if they want to. So long as no other states have to pick up the tab when they fail. Let places like Kalifornia, Illinois, Mass, Maryland, New York, etc have all the big gov nanny state income redistribution they want, so long as they don't try to force it on the rest of the country. Then people can choose how they want to live and go to a state that lives that way.

The problem is liberals are not content to live how they want to live and allow others to do the same. They want to force everyone to live how they want them to, while claiming to be open minded and tolerant.

With the Left Coast, the NE Corridor, and the Rust Belt all full of people who believe they are entitled to a free pass in life, I don't think the USA has much hope. Maybe the upcoming election will surprise me and they'll dump that Commie-in-Chief, but we'll still be stuck with that bunch of useless oxygen thieves in Congress.

My avatar contains my opinion on the subject.

I definitely feel we're in a sinking ship but I don't see anything happening anytime soon. Not only are most people too ignorant or apathetic, but even those who realize what is happening will keep waiting for some drastic "last straw".

I don't think any of the states will secede. What is more likely is that states will simply ignore the federal government. Local and state law enforcement will prevent federal people from doing anything against the states or its citizens. Tax monies will be withheld from the federal treasury and federal programs will be ignored. That will create a hardship for people like me, on social security and medicare. But if enough states stand up to the federal government it will force change. Real change, not the stuff Obama promised us.

I hope for a red state/blue state split. Deep ideological differences prevent the long term success of this nation. Much like a marriage that has run its course, it is time for a divorce.

Seccesion is a myth that aint gonna happen

    Party killer.

Btw, it has actually happened in the past you know.

I don't think it would be as easy to split as some think. Lot of hard times would lie ahead. But them again we are facing that now and the gov is only pushing for a steeper dive.

I don't think secession will happen but we are already seeing states starting to ignore and challenge federal law. If O gets back in office it will be interesting.

Legitimate crisis indeed, with no end in sight. God willing, even if Romney/Ryan get the Ovomit administartion out of office it'll still be a long and bumpy road to recovery. As far as a "people's Revolt" is concerned, well first off there would need to be enough people that actually give a damn.

State's rights will eventually come to a head. It will all boil over eventually, especially if the libs continue the progressive path they've been on for the last 100 years.

My wife told me an Indian nation seceded yesterday. I said "good for them" and "if texas doesn't do it, I wonder how I'd look in tribal gear". Seems to me the country is too stupid to fix at this point unless all the pollsters are lying to us about the percentages.
