First my impression of the film:
Certainly I had to fight back watering of my eyes at times. It was very engrossing to me, I could tell this in that the 2h 15m time lapsed very quickly. It starts out with actual videos of children being snatched. That alone brought out my ire, and certainly a story of at least a few being rescued is what can bring out the waterworks. I found the film very well made and informative. Certainly I am aware that children are being taken every day, but when I had thought of the sex slave industry, I often thought of young women and teens, and not little children. Not that I think it's so much better or worse, but it brings out a more of a rage in me.
Next the politics surrounding this film:
It confounds me how this movie can be attributed to QAnon. I know that the labelling is to discredit, and nobody will come out and say definitively that this doesn't happen, but how can it be QAnon when the concept and the script pretty much predates QAnon? It's also said to be the right wing Christian. If a quote from the film "God's children are no longer for sale" makes this a right wing Christian movie, I have to wonder how many hundreds of movies I've seen in the past are now right wing Christian movies. I believe I know the answers to the criticisms, and this movie hits home the overwhelming depravity in the world.
Last nights short interview of Tim Ballard, whom this movie is about:
In closing:
Having been a biker for most my life, I have been involved with countless charities for children. So certainly this movie hit me pretty hard. Nothing gets my blood boiling harder than exploitation of children. That this movie could be in any way controversial is ludicrous to me. Being that U.S. citizens are the number one consumers in the sex trade of children, I guess I shouldn't be surprised with the blow back. Is it any wonder that there are many trying to change the word pedophile to 'minor attracted person' in attempts of normalizing it?
