in 2019, there is absolutely no reason not to use a SSD for normal household use. Gaming, streaming, office work, etc. Significantly faster than an HDD. M.2 is smoking fast, I have a 1TB M.2 in my gaming rig at home. The only use I have for hard drives these days is for my NAS that has a RAID array of TB HDDs.
I've been building PCs for some time and made the switch to SDDs back in 2011 when they were still expensive and evolving. I will never go back to a hard drive in a computer ever again.
