Dumb question: If you "sell" a gun to a person who then never pays for it, can it be reported "stolen"??
It is a civil issue and you should seek civil remedy. Good luck
Dumb question: If you "sell" a gun to a person who then never pays for it, can it be reported "stolen"??
We were victims of a burglary/larceny in June of 2012. Couple of young druggies entered our property and stole some items from our RV (TV & misc. small items) and autos (an IPod & .38 S&W revolver). They were caught in the act by the neighbor across the street in the midst of stealing his property. Harris Counts Sheriffs Dept. was called (by us & the neighbor), they arrived and arrested the ne'er do well couple. Due to the circumstances - that I still don't understand - none of our property could be searched for so none of it was recovered. Except for the gun. Harris County found and recovered that right away. The young duo spent a few weeks in the slammer and plead out. But our gun is still in the possession of Harris County. Numerous phone calls are met with excuses such as they have to run ballistics or finish some other detail. I think they have no intention of returning our property. My wife and I are God fearing, law abiding, tax paying citizens, who feel like they are getting the run around. Any ideas or avenues we can pursue for the return of our property?

my father passed away about a year ago today. He had some gun in his possession which I believe prior to his death were sold without his permission ,, He had numerous strokes and was unable to communicate. It believed that a family member of my step-mom's sold them. i know his guns were registered . There is really only one gun in particular i am interested in . It was issued to my grandpa, his father. It was issued to my issued grandpa by the city of Goldsmith when he served as chief of police there. It was given to my dad was when grandpa passed away. It really has more sentimental value than monetary . When my aunt asked about this gun the family member about it he contacted the person sold all the gun to and said it was not among them so this person does know who sold them to. All i know at present is it was a pistol. However if these gun were registered in my dad's name. How would I go about find that information? You may contact by sending me a PM
