If all they're doing is putting some disclaimer card at the beginning, and not changing the content of the movie, then I don't see much of a problem. Absent any other indication, that seems to me more like them saying "we're just delivering the movie you asked for, don't involve us in your crap"HBO has said Gone With The Wind will return, but it won’t be the same.
"'Gone With the Wind' is a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society," the statement said. "These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible."

Well, that's interesting. If they were wrong THEN, why did they ever carry the title? These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today...
You mean anyone associated with white people.I suspect we will see every school named after anyone associated with the confederacy will be changed.

That comment made me think of the book "Fahrenheit 451", for some odd reason.Oh well. I have the DVD.
Nothing. It's like a bucket of crabs. We'd just fall back to the level things were at.That’s what I keep waiting to see: Once those place names are eliminated, WHAT will replace them? Certainly not “Founding Fathers” because, as has already been pointed out, many of them have their own ‘baggage’.
As far as I can tell, where Confederate monuments have been take down, nothing has been put up in their place. Empty. Just an attempt by the “know nothings” to erase history. Robert E. Lee Park in Dallas was renamed Turtle Creek Park.
Interesting times....
