I believe that the problem is big goverment and the 2 party system that says you have to be either a Republican or Democrat. The Republicans have plenty of blood on their hands too. Bush started the bailouts.
In my estimation choosing one of the 2 major political parties today is like being asked by the school yard bully if you want to get punched in the face or in the gut.....

FYI: Right now on Fox News they have a MAJOR RNC donor, Mark Demoss, who said he isnt giving anymore money to the Republicans due to the disgusting tactics that are being used by the party. We will see a 3rd party candidate win a major office in the near future.

And this modern liberal is what my libt*** comments are all about.

    It's still disrespectful, though. ;)

Most modern day Democrats are not the same as your Mom and Dads or Grandmas and Grandpas Democrats, The progressive mind set has taken hold and tainted the party, and the Republicans have been corrupted by this as well.
Clockwork, you sound like a decent guy, but just like the Dems and Reps, the Liberals for the most part are not what they use to be. Dems or Reps.
The Nation and my self are very frustrated with how this Administration and this Congress which took over in 2007 and was in control the last two years of GWBs presidency and made a mess of this country in those two years as they continue to make a mess in Obamas term.
Like you I tend not to like blatant mindless bashing, but from where I sit and how I see my Country going, these new Liberals/Progressives are stupidly and blatantly running our Country in to the ground.

I agree that the apologizing and spending need to stop, but name-calling isn't going to get it done... although I do understand the anger. There needs to be a widespread reeducation of American voters so that people can see through all the political B.S. for themselves (without pundits telling them what or how to think) and vote for some real change.

I sure hope so. It would be a major wakeup call to the two current parties. Something needs to happen to make them see that We the People do not like where they have taken our Country, and that continued course will bode ill for them.
Ron Paul has some really good points about him, but I do not agree with a few of his ideas.
At this point though, I would vote for him over anyone the Republicans can put up, and I don't think you could pay me enough to vote for a Democrat.

To the Liberals who still care about this Country and the Constitution, it may be. And I feel for them that the Progressive Liberals have tainted their name, by your definition though of a liberal, I would call them Libertarians, but be that as it may. They have been maligned just as the Democrats have. Blue Dog Democrats are more like what the Democratic party use to be, and stand for, but the Progressives have all but destroyed the brand, they are currently taking down the Republican brand the same way. Being called a Liberal at one time was a good thing but that was a looooong time ago. I hope that they can bring a good name back to it in the future.

I agree that the apologizing and spending need to stop, but name-calling isn't going to get it done...

This may be true as well, but people only put up with so much stupid before it becomes to much. And the Progressive Liberals of both parties in Washington have gone to far

Here we both agree, but it's hard to get that done (a widespread reeducation of American voters) when you have all the major media outlets working overtime
to get the Progressive Liberal agenda out, while at the same time working non stop to silence the truth.?

They are still out there, M. Sage. :)

I know there are classical liberals, it's just that the definitions have shifted so radically. Now we're called "libertarians". But even that definition is at risk; look out for people who pimp what they call "libertarian socialism".

    Voting reeducation. :)

Something that I've noticed of many classic liberals is that they think that the libertarian party is some kind of conservative movement, like the tea party movement which is not the case. If everyone out there who's views were actually aligned with the libertarian party actually knew that their views aligned with it, the libertarian party would be formidable in the polls.

Agreed. I can't tell you how many folks in CA think that Tea Parties are racist and that people wave racist signs at them. I saw one racist sign at a Tea Party, and he was jeered and basically thrown out.

    It's called an oxymoron. ;)

These people just hurt the causes that others are trying to bring about... The guy that spit in the congressman's face, the guy that flung a bag full of shit at a vehicle escort.... These are all examples that give the left fuel that the right is a bunch of radicals...

All of this rhetoric has been entertaining, two very opposite views but no cussing each other and flinging wild insults. The two political Parties have evolved 180 degrees and still are not the answer for many good Americans. Yes, we need a good strong third party but I am afraid at this time with the upcoming elections a third party will split the vote and allow the democrats to stay in the majority in House and Senate. Surely something must be done and now, not yesterday and the goal is to remove the despot majority and return it to they who will represent Americans honestly. I am thinking term limits, Congressmen and Senators going be the same rules as American voters that that includes health care. The lawmakers not being allowed to vote themselves such dream world pay and benefits and retirement, And last of all, making the bribery called Lobbying a felony. After all, who the hell is lobbying for the common man ? Perhaps only our NRA and I don't wish the NRA any harm nor restrictions protecting the Constitution.

I am fed up with both Big Business and the lazy, won't work "Gimme Jimmies" with their hands out for cradle to the grave dollars. I am fed up with a government of politicians that will get down on their knees and well, do anything for votes from illegal invaders, welfare bums, and other social outcasts. I felt that Carter was as simple as his peanuts but with the Soros influenced despot we have not, the view of the future for Americans looks glum...

I think it's more like 270° apart... The Democrats and Republicans are both parties for big government. I agree whole heartily on term limits, but how do we get the folks that it restricts to vote on it?

the guy that flung a bag full of shit at a vehicle escort....
hahaha... I didn't hear about that one, but that's pretty funny.

Keep in mind that it's a pretty well-known fact that the left is happy to send infiltrators and provocateurs to derail causes they disagree with.
