    Anyone else?

Could more conservatively say amnesty Thursday. Ferguson next week.

Ohhhh. Maybe a 1 2 punch! Both on the same day!

Nah. Im sticking with amnesty Thursday, Ferguson Friday. Have to let the protestors riot on the weekend. We know they cant be missing work.

The manchild has no idea what's inside the box he's hell bent on opening.

He's paving the way for a future president to decline enforcing the revenue code on favorite corporations (Halliburton, Goldman Sachs anyone?) or refusing to prosecute capital murder cases and controlled substance violations except when the defendant is black.

And I'd be completely OK with that. After all Obola is setting the precedent here.

There will be no amnesty. It's a lot of chest thumping and the media is going into overddrive talking about immigration "reform" (They keep using that word.) However, the current proposed immigration policies are toxically unpopular and with the drubbing the Dems just received there is no way any bill will pass.

That leaves Executive Orders/Actions, but Obama has already admitted his authority is limited here. He cannot simply grant amnesty on a whim, though we all know he would like to.

He will do something if for no other reason than to appear he is doing something. He is not nicknamed "President Stompyfoot" without reason.

He can make it more difficult to enforce current immigration policies and I have no doubt we will see a flood of illegals over the next two years, to supplement the flood we are already experiencing.

I would actually welcome true immigration reform with a path to citizenship for ordinary Mexican citizens who want to be a part of this great nation. Sadly, no one ever focuses on that. Instead it's either the ongoing failure to ban blue collar workers from ever being able to join us or an attempt to simply allow anyone to come over whenever we want and then magically make them US citizens whenever the numbers favor the right people in the Legislature.

We have plenty of "blue collar workers" here already, they just need to be put to work instead of generational welfare and disability. We dont need millions of Mexicans coming here to work.

Defacto amnesty sounds better than my title to you? OK.

Whats his real end game? This is a step towards amnesty.

Not de facto amnesty. We have limits on who can enter this country already. Problem is if you are not a degreed worker from the right country your chances of getting in are near non-existent.

If we're going to send the message that you'll never have a chance to enter America legally they will just do it illegally. See usual comments about making alcohol, drugs, or guns illegal. No difference here.

While it would not stop everybody, if there was a legitimate path to citizenship there would be many who would wait and work through the system, even if it meant they may never get in. There will still be illegal crossings but they would be reduced.

The system as it stands now offers no hope.

Now, granted, this has nothing to do with border security, which is awful and a completely separate topic. I've never understood, from a non-cynical perspective anyway, why our security in regards to Canada seems to be better than our security in regards to Mexico.

There would be plenty of jobs if it weren't for the current administration. We have enough work for everyone, the problem is job killing regulations, not illegal immigration. The IT Field has actually benefited from immigration, but it's tightly regulated and controlled, despite some ongoing attempts at abuse by various companies.

We are the greatest country in the world and people want to join us. We need to give them the opportunity to do so.

I don't support amnesty or even de facto amnesty. I'm saying we give ordinary people the same opportunities as we do the highly educated.

Of course, part of making it a true path to citizenship would be to return to your country and go through the legal steps. Here illegally? Your ass gets deported, and spare me the sob stories. I sympathize with the folks trying to make a better life for themselves, but that doesn't excuse the paltry attempts at enforcing immigration law. I had a lot of interactions with what used to be the INS and they were the most ridiculous joke of a Federal law enforcement agency you ever saw.

Man you write some long posts. (So do I sometimes)

Yes. We need a path to citizenship for legal immigrants. We have one. I have a German neighbor who is going through that long process.

What we need is a secure border and to deport illegals.

Funny you should mention this. One of the guys I work with finally got his green card to be a US Permanent Legal Resident. Do you know how long it took? 8 years.

The guy has an engineering degree and is working on a Master's degree.

Meanwhile obungler is throwing the gates open to illiterate, no-skilled, possible rapists/pedophiles/drug smugglers/murderers/terrorists. Have we forgotten the illegal mexican serial killer (Angel Resendiz) and child rapist murderer (Jose Medellin) both recently put to death in TX already?

Legal immigrants who did everything the right way should be up in arms over this amnesty for criminals BS. Heck, any American who isn't a lawbreaking piece of shit should be outraged.

The Media doesn't report it, but this does actually piss off the legal immigrants in this country. However, it doesn't fit the narrative.

I knew someone who immigrated from Russia. The INS lost his paperwork and he had to start from scratch. Took him nearly 12 years to become a US Citizen and he became a citizen the same time as his sister despite her arriving years later. The Fed basically told him tough shit to their mistake, but he stuck it out. Don't know what he's up to these days but I'd love to hear his take on this fiasco.

The legal immigrants I know are pissed about it.

They're also much more highly skilled and intelligent than the democrat voters pouring across the border.

I'm a legal immigrant - and you can bet that I'm livid about it. In my mind, I see my Green Card as an absolute privilege and that there is NO god-given right to live in the US unless you were born here.

To undo the damage of the previous President, all he needs to do is the hard right.

The beauty of Eisenhower's enforcement action was to cause more than 400,000 illegals to self deport.

I could not think of a more noble mission for the USAF and U.S. Navy than to fly or ship millions of illegals back home.

In the interim, all those FEMA camps could be used to house illegals humanely, or hire a bunch of cruise ships to house the deportees.

It is eminently doable, the American People want it, but the politicos have no stomach for it.

Ferguson comes first. Then late Friday or maybe Saturday executive action is slipped in, but the media will be too busy covering Ferguson so it doesn't get a story.

Congress is off for the week so all he has to do is come up with some other crisis to take over the front page if Ferguson dies off too quick when folks come back to DC after Thanksgiving.

Seems like POTUS is in Kalifornia the end of the week anyway, which would allow him to make a Friday announcement "during business hours" after all of Congress has left town and everyone in the media is salivating over the impending riots.
