I try to tell leftists that. If the law doesn't matter to their guy...then get ready for my guy.The manchild has no idea what's inside the box he's hell bent on opening.
He's paving the way for a future president to decline enforcing the revenue code on favorite corporations (Halliburton, Goldman Sachs anyone?) or refusing to prosecute capital murder cases and controlled substance violations except when the defendant is black.
And I'd be completely OK with that. After all Obola is setting the precedent here.
We have plenty of "blue collar workers" here already, they just need to be put to work instead of generational welfare and disability. We dont need millions of Mexicans coming here to work. There will be no amnesty. It's a lot of chest thumping and the media is going into overddrive talking about immigration "reform" (They keep using that word.) However, the current proposed immigration policies are toxically unpopular and with the drubbing the Dems just received there is no way any bill will pass.
That leaves Executive Orders/Actions, but Obama has already admitted his authority is limited here. He cannot simply grant amnesty on a whim, though we all know he would like to.
He will do something if for no other reason than to appear he is doing something. He is not nicknamed "President Stompyfoot" without reason.
He can make it more difficult to enforce current immigration policies and I have no doubt we will see a flood of illegals over the next two years, to supplement the flood we are already experiencing.
I would actually welcome true immigration reform with a path to citizenship for ordinary Mexican citizens who want to be a part of this great nation. Sadly, no one ever focuses on that. Instead it's either the ongoing failure to ban blue collar workers from ever being able to join us or an attempt to simply allow anyone to come over whenever we want and then magically make them US citizens whenever the numbers favor the right people in the Legislature.

Defacto amnesty sounds better than my title to you? OK.
Whats his real end game? This is a step towards amnesty.
Borders. Language. Culture.
Man you write some long posts. (So do I sometimes)Not de facto amnesty. We have limits on who can enter this country already. Problem is if you are not a degreed worker from the right country your chances of getting in are near non-existent.
If we're going to send the message that you'll never have a chance to enter America legally they will just do it illegally. See usual comments about making alcohol, drugs, or guns illegal. No difference here.
While it would not stop everybody, if there was a legitimate path to citizenship there would be many who would wait and work through the system, even if it meant they may never get in. There will still be illegal crossings but they would be reduced.
The system as it stands now offers no hope.
Now, granted, this has nothing to do with border security, which is awful and a completely separate topic. I've never understood, from a non-cynical perspective anyway, why our security in regards to Canada seems to be better than our security in regards to Mexico.
There would be plenty of jobs if it weren't for the current administration. We have enough work for everyone, the problem is job killing regulations, not illegal immigration. The IT Field has actually benefited from immigration, but it's tightly regulated and controlled, despite some ongoing attempts at abuse by various companies.
We are the greatest country in the world and people want to join us. We need to give them the opportunity to do so.
I don't support amnesty or even de facto amnesty. I'm saying we give ordinary people the same opportunities as we do the highly educated.
Of course, part of making it a true path to citizenship would be to return to your country and go through the legal steps. Here illegally? Your ass gets deported, and spare me the sob stories. I sympathize with the folks trying to make a better life for themselves, but that doesn't excuse the paltry attempts at enforcing immigration law. I had a lot of interactions with what used to be the INS and they were the most ridiculous joke of a Federal law enforcement agency you ever saw.

Legal immigrants who did everything the right way should be up in arms over this amnesty for criminals BS. Heck, any American who isn't a lawbreaking piece of shit should be outraged.
Not so fast ... The NEXT president can easily follow precedent. First thing for him to do is to issue an executive order that nullifies Obama's amnesty.
