Just wanted to know if/what you guys have done when you have been dooped on broker? I won an auction for a new m&p pistol and sent the seller a postal mo that was received last Friday. My ffl hasn't heard or seen a package.

I have sent the seller 3 emails and just tried to message him on broker and his account is disabled now. He had good feedback with 120+ so I thought I'd be good to go.

What is my recourse here? Do I kiss that money goodbye?

Sorry to hear. GB has a fraud resolution (email) but my understanding is it is typically limited to baning a specific seller's E-Mail address.
They don't seem to have the Amazon / Ebay protections.

it cast a few bucks more but I only use credit cards there.
That appeared to save me $$$$ when a seller claimed he couldn't take credit cards because he was switching banks, but Western Union or MO was ok.
Found out later others were scammed.

    Good luck.

    Sorry to hear that.

I was fleeced out of $400 on an eBay deal for a Matco toolbox.
Fortunate for me, I paid using Paypal, disputed and eventually got a full refund. Took weeks, though.

I learned from that deal, though, that it's worth the peace of mind to pay a little extra if I have to to do a FtF.

Hope it works out for you.

I have bought several guns from broker but this was the 1st seller that didn't accept credit cards. But him having 116 positive feedback and just now on the 21st of January he starts getting negative feedback.

Stay clear of crownvick72 on broker

Sorry to hear this. Gunbroker has always worked out for me, but it seems like nowadays, one is safe no where anymore. What state was the guy in?

Hopefully it works out. You never know. If he had great feedback, something could have happened (car accident, injury, etc.). Hope it all works out for you.

The guy is in Findlay Ohio. I did a Google for heavy duty firearms and had a F rating with the bbb. I'm gonna file a complaint with them just to see if it'll help.

    Somewhere here nor there....
Here's a quick story with a good avenue for you to try as well. I bought a John wayne 30-30 for 1500$ on GB a few years ago. The seller never shipped and avoided me for 3 weeks. I paid by USPS M/O and sent him an email stating, He was paid with a USPS M/O and it was a Federal crime to commit fraud by not shipping an item paid for with a USPS M/O. I also told him I had filed a complaint and a case was opened with the Postal Inspectors regarding our transaction and they'd be contacting him within a few days. I waited and 24hrs after sending the email he replied back. It took a week or two with a few excuses but I was refunded my $. It actually is a federal Postal crime if you pay with a USPS M/O and don't receive your item. By the way I never made the call to the USPS. Hope this helps...

Thats what I was going to mention. I think you can also trace the payment and see if its been cashed, if not you may be able to cancel it and get the funds back (could cost a few bucks, but may be worth it).

Not sure its the case here, but some sellers take a little bit longer. Some people wait 5-10 days for funds to clear (even a USPS MO), but usually tell you this up front. If that were the case - if you mailed it on Friday the 16th, he probably got it Tuesday the 20th (Mon-19 was a holiday), cashed it Wednesday 21/Thursday 22 and 5-10 business days would be January 29 - February 5th.

Honestly, if he dropped all contact, I'd follow up with USPS. GB probably closed his account if he had similar actions.

Good info guys!! I did open a case with GB but it was closed already and they stated that the seller is working on the issue and the gun is not in stock. I still haven't heard from the seller. I am gonna go to the post office on monday and I'm also gonna open a case with the BBB.

Took a look at gunbroker this morning and his account does not appear to be disabled, he has auctions ending as I type this. If you take a look back at his first negative feedback, a "D". The buyer got his item, just took 4 weeks. And he does have plenty of excellent feedback for prior gun sales. Doesn't look like a thief so much as someone who is not organized possibly. Hopefully with a little perseverance on your part you will get your gun! Good luck
