Evolution of rifles

I have to admit my favorite rifle has been my Marlin 30-30 which I've had since I was 14. (wow, 31 years now) I just passed in to my son with directions that it stay in the family. I'm now shooting a mossberg 270 bolt action. Nothing expensive in my safe, but fun to shoot.

You own two of the most common calibers in America, if not the most common.

Certainly nothing wrong with either of those for hunting.

Hell no the 30 - 30 is a great round for 100 yard shooting and the 270 will get what the 30 -30 can't reach. A few good riffles can go a long way. Hey how do you like the mossberg bolt actions?

I have one of those new Mossberg 270 bolt guns.. it is a very nice peice..

The mossberg is pretty nice. A little kick to it. The kick is nothing compared to shooting a deer or hog and watching them flip me off before they limp away.

When I shot the last deer that I killed with my 336 before I got rid of it, he literally fell side ways from the impact into a cactus. The 30-30 is a devastating round if used correctly.

My favorite gun to shoot is also the cheapest, under $500. Rossi M92 Lever Action Ass Kicking Fun.
