DFW area.....Wylie.
I have about $100 there, but it was 20 yrs ago when I was a waiter and they want proof where I lived!? Apparently, your name & SS number isn't enough. Too much hassle to try to claim it......I don't know how I'd get that info (it was my parents house and they have moved twice since then).

Get s signed affadavit. You need it notarized, but that might work. I'd do it for a hundred bucks.

I work at the print shop where the lists were printed this year... we are currently working on Houston area list now... Anyone that has a copy of that should look closely at the cover and see if anything catches your eye...

Ha. Looks like my Dad has about $500 from when we lived in West Texas back in the late 80's. Gonna have to dig a little deeper into that one. Thanks txinvestigator!

Apparently the yearly list of unclaimed money is out again. A friend just called and I have a whopping $17 coming to me from a closed account in 1992. However, her husband has $800 due.

Check for and claim your money here; https://txcpa.cpa.state.tx.us/up/Search.jsp

In California you would never have seen a penny of your own money: The state confiscates bank accounts and safety deposit boxes "unaccessed" for three years or more. Big scandal here. Only in California.

So, for those of us that don't have a copy, what should the others be looking for?

$19.79 from when I lived in an apartment for six months in 1997. I barely remember the place. I guess I'll let that one go.

Thanks for the heads-up!

By the way, since some of you are from Houston I haven't posted the thing about the cover yet... the Houston area should get it's unclaimed properties insert in Sunday's paper. It will be in the Chronicle and a few other papers in the "Greater Houston Area" as it is listed as in the insert.

I don't think I am going to wait for Dallas area people before revealing the "interesting" thing on the cover.
