Google finds lots of info for you.

Here's a quick summary, see #13 and 14 TEXAS CAUSES OF ACTION

Yeah, I know Texas law. In 13 there has to be damages. If the manufacturer warrantys the item there would unlikely be damages. You can sue for anything, but determining damages is always a difficult thing.

And 13 is not a law that requires a business accept returns.

14 has nothing to do with this.

Interesting post. Valerie sounds like a real work of art. Of course it's an interesting story. I went ahead and googled CYA arms in Forney. According to their website, their policy is.

Maybe they forgot to update their website with the whole all sales final bit?

I have personally been here before....and can vouch for how customers are treated. I also know how I have witnessed them treat folks at gun shows locally. Could speak to why every day no matter what time you pass their store the parking lot is empty.

As far as "slander"???? Really? Thats why at the slightest mention of Cheaper Than Dirt there are instantly comments after comments of slander, right?

FWIW, I live in Forney and have not personally bought anything from CYA, but I know many who have and do on a regular basis, all agree that as long as they don't have to deal with her they like CYA.
So other people have had issues with the same person? Seems like a pattern...

The only thing that really differentiates one gun store from the next is customer service, as it is with most any other business. You should be polite and patient even when you are telling a customer you cannot accommodate them. If you can't do that then you need to find a job where you don't interact with customers.

I stand by my review of CYA. As some here have mentioned, I’m definitely not alone in how I was treated by this local FFL shop. I shared a review relevant to this forum so that the members that see this post can make their own informed decisions on where to do business. If you think it’s wrong to share first hand experiences both positive and negative with local FFL’s on a local FIREARMS FORUM then I don’t know what to tell you.
If it makes the haters on this thread feel any better both my dad and I have had many positive dealings since way back when with Mickey over at Ammo Depot and they are always fantastic! Shops like Mickey’s are the benchmark in which I judge other FFL shops.

Ok there...now order and balance have been restored in the universe.

that's great for your effort and your feelings but time will tell if you're a member here or just someone who popped in to promote, sell or badmouth something.

I read through the OP's post and didn't really have a problem with it. He did acknowledge the store's policy and accept the terms, after complaining. This is not the first or only time we've had someone complain about less than satisfactory service by a business. After someone else dug up their ACTUAL policy, it appears that OP wasn't that far off afterall.

If a place of business treats you poorly, you may have to accept the consequences. You don't have to continue to do business with them in the future. Let your wallet do the talking.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread.......

Really weird problem actually. It's a .30 carbine model and the extraction rod does not align with the cylinder to extract (push the empty shells out the cylinder). It (rides) sits so close to the barrel it doesn't even come close to matching the holes in the cylinder.

Really weird...... I did a very crude drawing describing the problem...it contacts the inside of the all the chamber holes of the cylinder to the inside of them when rotating the cylinder.

BTW, Ruger did repair the .30 Carbine Blackhawk. It did have the wrong ejection rod installed from the factory.......

I dont think anyone has an issue woth a retailer review, good or bad.

When looking at your join date and post count and nature of your only input to the site, your motives for joining TGT doesnt seem to be as virtuous as you want it to appear.

Your participation is welcomed. Trolling seems to be in vogue as the site grows, though. Your introduction to the site seems rather trollish .....

I don't see a big problem with the store's policy, but I do see a problem with the manager's attitude. Evidently her attitude and demeanor were very negative and not conducive to repeat business. Repeat business is very important to an organization.

TGT should have a sister forum called TTT (Texas Taco Talk) and it would be all about delicious tacos. None of that Taco Bell crap but the taco trucks and taquerias that abound and spread their yummy goodness. And I can tell you from experience that most taquerias won't accept returns either!

And what difference does it make if turns out to be a long standing member or just popped in to provide a review of a gunshop (which from the description has a ways to go in customer relations)? That does not change the validity of his observations, especially when it appears others have had less than satisfactory dealings.

If the review is helpful to someone, then it serves a purpose regardless of the OP's longevity.

I've been trading guns, motorcycles, cars, trucks, Jet Skis, bicycles for over 50 years. My policy is to take back anything that is defective and give a full refund. There are some limitations:

"I bought it and didn't like it." We all have that happen to us and that's on YOU. No refund.

"The item is not as described." Refund.

"I fiddled with it and screwed it up." It's on you. No refund.

"My wife won't let me keep it." Refund. (This actually happened).

"It's defective." Immediate refund. I bought a Colt Python pistol at the big show in Tulsa. When I got home, I found the top strap was cracked from drilling it for a scope base. I finally found the seller at another show two years later. He inspected the gun and gave me an immediate refund. THAT guy had integrity!

That's how I've always done business. If you're unhappy with their policies, then walk away and find someone else to deal with.
