Not that I plan to open carry but I do have a question about it. Do you have to have a Texas carry permit or is an out of state permit that's recognized by texas ok?

YES, with a valid out-of-state permit, that is recognized by Texas, you will be able to legally "open carry" a handgun in Texas, starting on 01JAN16.

1. are intellectually dishonest,
2. insist that their personal view is the only valid opinion,
3. call other members vulgar names,
4. throw childish temper tantrums
and
5. automatically dispute anything that any other member posts, regardless of whether or not that a particular post is factually correct?

Actually I did read the entire thread, but evidiently I missed what exactly you were talking about, or where I specifically questioned you on. As I recall, I really have not questioned anybody on anything - only made comments that this satx guy has made some valid statements that shoudl not be dismissed simply because you don't like the fact that he mentions he's been a LEO for 30 years.

Please educate me, as evidently I am not as elightened as some others here with my meager life experience.

Honestly, this is a knife that cuts both ways. I don't think either side on this is wrong - both arguments have very good points, but there seems to be too much dick measuring going on.

I called no names, vulgar or otherwise.
I voice no opinion, simply asked for evidence of statements of fact given.
I really don't give a rat's rear end end if you, or anyone else, like my opinion or not. You didn't ask my permission for yours, I won't ask for your permision either.
