So, big ass wheel gun or 1911? I would typically lean toward big ass wheel gun but "someone" went and bought a 460 which would win the measuring contest;) against the .454.

It only has a drop-leg holster.

it was not real clear but the officer on the Round Rock question and answer about Open Carry said... drop legs as long as it attaches to the belt should be fine.

I'm not willing to be the test case on this (plus I have no need for a drop-leg, it's slower and less comfortable in a vehicle).

So far we're at 4 confirmed and 13 interested. If your confirmation changes, please update the poll. I'm suspecting we'll have more than four.

Uh, I'd like to upgrade from not sure but interested to definitely in - but I'm not smart enough to do that.

4 confirmed ? You folks have a good time showing the Ladies and kids your gun.

Uh, there are more than that but not all in this thread. What, exactly, are you trying to insinuate?

Will you be joining us? The regular Friday crowd is pretty solid as a group.

I need a 'More than likely; but not sure' option.

DW has a rare full day off...will try to bring her if I can make it. 43 degrees and rain might suggest a trip to Shady Oaks...BUT, they have been swamped daily since Christmas!

I know you men are solid, but I just don't see the gain ? I take a more discrete attitude have no desire to show anyone my gun.
But I respect you folks right to open carry.

I just hope we don't do a lot of hot dogging and deminish the goal Constituional Carry, your right to carry without paying to be on a list.
I would like to see Jan1 come and go quietly.

You're still welcome to join us. OC isn't a requirement. :)

It's our regular Friday lunch and just happens to coincide with the first day of OC at an OC-friendly location.

The path to constitutional carry is MORE people OC'ing, not less. The public (and legislators, in particular) need to see that there isn't "blood in the streets" and anarchy everywhere.

That said, the goal is definitely not hot-dogging. No chest rigs on plate carriers, no ultra-tactical laura croft tomb raider double gun setups, no ar-15 pistols in tactical leg holsters.

Normal attire, solid holster, single firearm. IMHO.

I was going to say, one could OC and not be hot dogging, if they dressed just as you subscribe. Frankly if you dressed properly, the average OCer would more likely be thought of as a plainclothes police officer relaxing at lunch. No one bats an eye at that.

And before anyone chimes in, no there's no dress code to OC and if you're legal, you're legal.

BUT, HOW you present yourself WILL impact how you're perceived - especially by antis - and we're fighting a war of perception.

Please fight on our side. :)
