When the water is low, it's all so crystal clear and shallow enough to walk across. Also, next time we go out there I will bring my truck so we can get all the way down to the nice beach around the bend.

Heh. Didn't really get to enjoy it until Sunday afternoon when I was off. Walked from the hotel to a good seafood place and back. Had to go home after.

Driving around Galveston reminds me of driving around Monterey, CA; A coastal town, largely sleepy excepting the tourists.
