Back to the original question posed in the original post comma where is the best place to be buying 22 long rifle now? I'm in the DFW Metromess and prices seem to have jumped in the last month. I'm currently in need of a couple thousand rounds

Pretty much every Academy around has a crap ton of ammo for reasonable prices. Multiple manufacturers. SOme have bulk packs, but the regular Aguila and some others ammo is reasonable. I paid $50 for a brick of Aguila. Don't remember which one, but that's a fair price these days.

Actually found CCI SV at a LGS for $45 a 500 round box. Not the best price, but better than Gander Mountain and any place I've found it available online.

Just got back from the Academy in Round Rock. They had a couple bucket-o-bullets, about 20 boxes of Winchester copper plated 525 for $28, bunch of mini mag, and way too many 50rd boxes to count. I picked up a box of that Winchester. Might go back again this afternoon and grab another

Anybody have any experience with this stuff?? Worth $8.99/50??

I can not tell the difference between this and CCI SV out of any of my target pistols. I shoot a lot of .22, a whole lot. Would it make a difference in a different gun, maybe. I was shooting it through a Volquartsen tuned MKII 5.5" a MKII 10" and a stock MKII 6 7/8". It shot good, but no better than the SV.

Thanks for the feedback Hoji. I've got plenty of SV so I won't bit on these.

Has anyone tried the CCI Quiet in a SA? I bought some to try to out in my old model 24. Its appx 700ish FPS. I've never shot any of that stuff before, but wanted to get some low velocity ammo for the 24. Hoping it cycles.

CCI Quiet will not cycle the action in my 10/22.
