    To All,

As I guy who grew up in a family that owned a café, your job isn't "making people comfortable" with OC. - Your job is to SERVE THE PUBLIC & MAKE A PROFIT.

Btw, since 01JAN16, I haven't OC anywhere except on the farm or hunting/fishing/camping. - Otoh, I seldom go anyplace without having my S&W Model 12 on my belt.
(Even some places that don't normally allow CC let me carry on their private property, as I'm "really low-key".)

For whatever my advice is worth, be polite, say little, speak softly, tip the wait staff generously & you'll be WELCOME.
(My favorite Tex-Mex place in SA welcomes my lady & I and the owner knows that I always carry & couldn't care less. = He HAS asked certain off-duty local LEO, who were OBVIOUS about being armed, to "cover up".)

Until/Unless we get lawful authorization to carry in all "public accommodations" (regardless of the owner's opinions), that's the wisest course, IMO.

Btw, since 02JAN I've seen exactly TWO people OC anywhere in San Antonio/Bexar County.

    yours, satx

I'm all for property owner rights. A property owner should be allowed to discriminate against people who OC or CC. They should also be allowed to discriminate against ANYTHING else they see fit to discriminate against -- religion, race, sexuality, gender, *whatever*, as long as they make it public on every entrance, just like they have to do with those who want to OC or CC. The problem that I have is that there are certain "protected classes" where you cannot discriminate against them, but other classes where it is perfectly acceptable to discriminate against. All I'm saying is make it the same for all of them. Make them publish their discrimination criteria on their front doors so that all their customers can decide if this is the type of company / person that they would like to do business with.

    NavyVet1959,

Pardon me for simply saying that: That ship has sailed & won't return in either of our lives.

Why boycott them? Because you're pissy about open carry being banned?

1.) They are pandering to phobias rather than encouraging adults to confront them.

2.) I can make everything they serve at home for much less and make it taste much better.

They're going to have to do a lot better if they want my money.

I don't understand the really, really militant attitude about OCing as in, if I can't OC, I'm all mad, grrrrr, break things, get red in the face, scream and shout, hold my breath until I turn blue. Those awful business's are just plain wrong and should do things like I want.

I saw a straw man behaving this way just yesterday.

    London,

I'm truly sorry that we no longer own Randy's Malt Shop. - IF we still had that place, I would have posted a notice that CHL/LTC licensees would receive a 20% discount.
(Of course, my hometown is in NETEX & we have VERY few leftist/anti-gun morons. - When I was young, hunters brought their shotguns/rifles into Randy's, so that they wouldn't chance getting their guns stolen out of their vehicles. - OF course there was NO freedom to carry CC or OC then.)

I'm not upset that there is no open carry at Whataburger. Their business their call. I do, however, enjoy annoying corporate about making employees work family holidays. I suspect they have been connecting me to the janitor for the past few years, but at least he knows. I'll keep on eating #1's add cheese and a coke, but the janitor and I will continue talking about business ethics.

I am all for property owners' rights. If they don't like it, put the proper sign up, and I'll go elsewhere if I feel that strongly about it. I will continue going to Whataburger, though...as Whataburger is delicious!

I like Carl Jr's better. They don't have a 30.07 sign, but a girl who worked there (manager?) told me that they are going to be putting up the sign and although I didn't have to leave, that I should not open carry in there in the future.

EDITED 2016.11.26: Just received a call from the girl who had told me that they were going to be putting up a sign prohibiting open carry at Carl Jr's. She apologized and said that she had been mistaken / misunderstood what had been said to her previously and that it was perfectly OK to open carry at Carl Jr's. I had sent an email to Carl Jr's corporate headquarters after it happened asking for clarification of corporate policy on this (i.e. whether she was mistaken).

So, I guess Carl Jr's is one of the good guys...

I'm posting this as an edit to my previous post in addition to adding a new post to the thread in case someone is reading this thread from the beginning. I don't want to mislead anyone.

I went to Carl's Jr. once. First and last time. Worst fast food I've ever had, worse than McDonalds.

At least the manager wasn't horribly rude to you though.
