Most guns are terrible investments, I buy them for other reasons.

While in general I agree, full autos are a whole different game.

Say you have way more money than brains and decide to drop $45k on a rifle like in the OP.

One little law change (either in favor of or against the 2A) and that rifle is worth little to nothing. One stroke of a pen is all it would take.

This isn't the rifle you are going to defend yourself with or fight a civil war. People spending that kind of money aren't planning on using it, it is purely for an investment.

But if losing $45k isn't a big deal to your portfolio and is worth the risk then have at it.

Full auto's don't depreciate and continue to move upward. I had a pre sample madsen M50 I bought in 2015 for $2850 and turned around a year later and sold for $5500 just for sitting in the safe and shooting once in awhile.

    With current laws yes.

One law change and it is scrap metal. That is all I am getting at.

True, but very unrealistic. It's extremely unlikely the Feds will ever deregulate those items and if possession were outlawed altogether odds are pretty good things will be pretty bad here and there will be a bunch of other stuff on that list. I personally would lose money but I would have no problem removing the restriction, there would be a lot more cool stuff I would like to have that's priced out of the market even for a dealer/collector.
