What the hell is going on here?

Same problem a month ago. A Prime order didn't show up on time, found out _they_ mixed up the billing address and the shipping address (had screen captured the original or they would have accused me of doing it), tried to cancel it which just made matters worse, took three weeks, four phone calls, and re-ordering to finally get product.

Amazon is getting like every other business doing business on the web ... the help is so ill educated they can't help if it is not in their cue cards (if they speak English), and the SnapChat educated millennial programmers wouldn't know an effective, user friendly GUI if it bit them on the ass.

Protect yourself and do an AltPrintScr of every order/ShoppingCart.

nothing like that. Have been an amazon prime member pretty much since it came out.

we spend $500+/mo on amazon (including subscribe & save) and the only issues we run into is about 15% of our same day orders don't make it on time.

I also recently ordered a fishing rod 3 or 4 times, they could not seem to figure out how to ship it appropriately packaged, they kept arriving snapped.

Oh, and sometimes I put together a same-day order and during checkout, i can't get them to ship same day....

oh oh oh and occasionally I have to harrass them regarding refunds, it seems they tend to forget to give me my money back

Only issue I've ever had, was ordering Warehouse "open box, like new" items.

First thing was a Hypertech programmer for my truck. Someone used it and returned it, but never uninstalled the programming from their vehicle. Unless uninstalled these are vin-locked to a vehicle...called hypertech, they said I was the 4th person trying to use this particular unit. So back it goes...full refund. I'm sure they'll turn right back around and sell it again.

The second was brake pads, which showed up covered in grease. Full refund, tossed in trash.

The third was a laptop that was DOA, full refund, shipped right back to them.

Always been afraid to buy the "like new" items. I can see my fears paid off. Usually new wasn't that much more.

Returns for me have gone smooth. I dont remember getting the wrong item if so they fixed it fast. The only problem I had with them was they sent an email telling me they lost a package when I in fact got it. I am getting delivery straight from amazon sometimes.

All I can say is that no store I know of would replace an item without first returning the item to be replaced. Amazon does that and I have yet had them ask me to actually return an item that they replaced.

The only amazon return I've ever had an issue with, was the DOA laptop.

They didn't refund it when UPS scanned the package, like they typically do. A week later I called, they said they were waiting for the item to arrive.

Tracking info showed it was delivered days ago, tho, so when I pointed that out they issued the refund right away.

I can see her getting an apology, but I'm sure nobody at Amazon had an explanation, certainly not whomever put it in there. I think I would rather have them send me something a bit more legal by mistake. I Don't smoke it and sure as hell don't want to give up my freedom trying to sell it. I wonder if she got her empty bins on top of a gift card, or too afraid to find out what was next.

I ordered a watch last week, and got the wrong one this week. They aren't refunding until they get the return. Really the first time Ive had an issue in the 8 years I have been a customer with them, and I have ordered a LOT of stuff. I can give them a little slack for that.

And yes, it was a "like new" warehouse item. They didn't have any new items in stock at the time.

Never used Amazon until I moved to TX (shipping took too long to my address in Colorado... like 4-5 days minimum)

Been using them a lot here- despite being rural, we get some stuff next day. Had my first problem today- ordered a carb rebuild kit for my Yamaha TT-R250, and got a Blu-ray of "The Indian Runner" (some Sean Penn directed pos)

I'm frequently order from amazon, never any major issues most current was some guitar strings I ordered never made it because of Harvey but it was apparently redirected back to them and refund issued before I even thought about them. The not having to return an item is on a case by case basis, sometimes it'll cost them more than the items worth to them to issue a return label and restock it.

I think I've been a prime member for like 5 years now? I've never had an issue. I think it depends on the center near you as to if you have problems or not. The one in Fort Worth is pretty freaking good.
