Why, might I ask? I carry my Defender regularly.
The front strap was worn so smooth I no longer get a good tight grip with it. I sent it to Novaks (who milled and put sights on it years ago, it was the first year Defender with a staked front sight and the minimal GI rear sight) to have the front strap checkered. They called me and told me there wasn't enough meat on the front strap to checker it. I got the New Agent in on a trade and it had Novak sights and striations on the front strap. I can grip it better, the same size pistol with familiar sights, so I just kept it. I am going to qualify with it the first week in Feb for another Instructor course I am taking. The Defender was always 100% reliable and and a joy to shoot, but getting into my 60's now, my grip has become more important to me...
