So, can anybody tell me if cats are held to the same standards as dogs, when it comes to leash laws and strays wandering loose?

I have multiple cats setting off my video cameras all around the house.
All hours of the day and night.

I'm about ready to set up my hav-a-hart trap.

Bexar and Travis, says neither can run free without a lease. Then it depends if your city is cutting them loose to fight vermin.

Set the sensitivity on the motion detection lower. If you trap them it's a call to the animal control to come pick them up. Once one cat is removed. Another cat will move in on the territory. Seeing how they breed like rabbits. Good luck with your endeavor.

How about a leash for Robert Mueller?

Always irritates me that people think it is okay to let their cats run amuck in the neighborhood. If I wanted a cat to kill the birds in my yard, crawl over my cars, etc. I would own a cat...

The cats walk right under the one in my driveway.
Couldn't set it low enough to NOT set it off.
I don't mind calling animal control everyday to pick up cats.

One reason I asked the question is because I'm fixing to announce my thoughts about trapping them on our "Nextdoor" website.
I'm hoping it would cause neighbors to think twice before letting their cats loose.

Judge Judy sides with you. Saw a couple of cases one even had nails in a 2x4 to stop opossums from getting in his shed well an unlucky cat got a hole in its foot.

Cat Owner sued Judy reamed the cat owner a good one for letting the cat roam free and dismissed the case.

That's why we chip our animals. If it gets picked up. The very first thing animal control does is to check for it. If it is chipped. Mr Snuggles catches bail.

We actually have a cat sanctuary in our subdivision.
I'm curious as to whether cats are able to get out of there and roam, or not.

Another reason I was thinking about posting on Nextdoor, to see if they comment, and maybe tighten security if their cats do get out.

I would never do anything to hurt them.

It won't have any impact on cat traffic. They will just think you're a jerk. I would not say anything. Just do it.

Cats are uncontrollable. And they are the devil.

Strays or not. If it's not diseased or causing damage to your food supply. The deal of the day and the law. Cause no harm.

I have two spoiled American short-haired tabby cats. Love both of them to death. I let them roam the backyard. If I even see the idea in their eyes of the thought to jump the fence. They're back inside.

In Killeen, you can't have animals on leashes unless they're being walked. You can't chain animals down in your yard. That's a no-go. One of my cats jumps the fence and it's likely some gang banging pit bull will kill it.

I've sank over $600 in one cat. Nope, they're not allowed to roam.

Wish all cat owners were like you.

Describe please. Also, strays only or owned cats?

Sorry, I only know it's there.
Lived here 15 years and only just found out about it.
It is a residential home/lot. Owners live there too.

I don't reckon they care if it's a stray, or owner just doesn't want any more.

My father use to blow them into pile of mixed up red jelly with a 12ga. He never cared for cats. A pu$sy cat had kittens right outside the barn. Dad shot the whole lot. Kittens on the tit. First time I ever saw raw guts. One kitten survived and my middle brother raised him. Dad was ok with that cat. Sylvester was his name. Grey and black striped. Huge cat. He lived a full complete life.

    Different times back then.
