No, I don't believe Jack understands the difference between the two signs. I tried to explain that to him but don't think I got through to him. He did take down the 30-07 sign but left up the 30-06, just the opposite of what I asked of him.

I am too. I like the guy and his store is clean, and close. I even posted on his web site in the reviews section. But I will not disarm to frequent his business.

So you can OC but not CC.... yep, I’d say he’s still confused. That’s pretty much opposite of what most places (especially restaurants) do.

Well, the guy, being from a foreign country, is obviously not a gun guy. So, in his scheme of things its probably not a big thing for him.

OK, got some more info on this place. Jack, the owner, told me that GAMA, Inc., gave him both 30-06 & 30-07 signs and "recommended" he put both of them up! GAMA is the Greater Austin Merchants Association. Does anyone know their political leanings? They are obviously anti concealed and open carry.

I'm very familiar with GAMA, as I work in the industry. GAMA is owned by the convenience store owners. Almost all are Ismaeli Muslims. They are extremely hard working and usually only own one or two stores. GAMA is very well operated and very attuned to small business. Most of the time when I point out what the signs actually mean, the individual owner will take them down. At least, the 30-06 signs.

My guess is that the Austin Police Department has asked them to furnish those signs to all of their customers. Several years ago the signs all appeared at once.

It was clear to me when I talked to Jack that he had no real idea what the signs meant. I tried to explain to him that folks who have went to the trouble & expense to get a CCL are the good guys, and the 30-06 sign prevents them from entering his business armed. I told him the 30-07 sign concerns open carry and that I could see his concern about folks openly carrying in his store. He was very nice and told me he would consider the matter. The next time I went by he had taken down the 30-07 sign but had left the 30-06 sign up. I have not entered his business since, and have no intention of ever doing so again. He has some very nasty looking folks doing business with him, and I would never go in there unarmed for just that reason.

You have the signs confused. 30.06 is concealed. 30.07 is open so they don't allow open carry, but do allow concealed carry.

Diversity is our demise. Diversity naturally goes against assimilation. The lack of which has created our division. When we promote diversity we have already said being different is desired. Women who marry wanting hyphenated last names is to be different. Shows their femininity and I think they are finding that some feminists don't have their best interest. Makes it easy in divorce. May be a bad example but it's like African-American. You have already said you are different and you are not one of us and therefore promotes thoughts of division not unity.
