Rant: you get an email stating that your order has shipped, when in reality, it was only the creation of a mailing label that generated the notice. An item should not be considered *shipped* until it has left the facility. Fockers.
And sometimes, it's several days after the shipping label has been created before it actually ships.

    Nothing new.

Many decades ago I worked for a manufacturer that used fiscal months (4 wks, 4 wks, 5 wks) that all ended on Saturday.

Everything that was on the “outboard” side of a line at the loading dock on Saturday was considered “shipped” even though it wasn’t going to be picked up until Monday or Tuesday.

I always get the "Your package is preparing for shipment" when the label is created. Then I get the "Your package has shipped" email when the label scans out and actually ships. Maybe I am using a different shipping service though...

    Chill dude. It'll be along.

    Need more range time.

If you think my post was me in a state of un-chill, you gotta get to know me better than that. LOL

I know that this modus operandi is nothing new, and I have dealt with it for a long time...just hadn't seen a thread on it, so here I am. :)

I'm thinking it has less to do with the shipping service as opposed to how the company doing the shipping has things set up in their system.

I worked for a mfr'r in Houston that did the same thing.

I often seen that it said shipped, but when I check the tracking it shows that a label has been created. I believe things ship faster in this day and age then they did when you didn't have tracking, but also in this day and age patience takes a backseat to instant gratification.

I can remember when Sears & Roebuck was the only option to buying local. And if you were lucky you would receive your order in a month. Not unusual that it would take a couple of months.

    Yep, I'm older than dirt.
