West Galveston Bay 8/25

Took the boat out yesterday & fished some grass flats in West Galveston Bay.
I was throwing a 5" swim bait weightless on a 5/0 gamagatsu EWG hook in 1.5' - 2.5' water. Ended up with 5 keeper trout between 22" & 17". I had a few undersized trout & reds also...just couldn't stretch em long enough to keep. Bite stopped @ 10:30, fished till noon & headed home.

Dude...your wife's a bad ass..lol. Do you know how many men she out fished with that fish? You happen to have any pics before it got fillet?
That's almost the Texas state record. It has been 16 years since Carl “Bud” Rowland caught a 15.6 pound, 37.25 inch monster on a fly rod to break the state record.
Did she catch it Surf or bay side?

And she frequently out fishes men.

The spots are there.

I caught a 34 1/2" speck out of that same school.

Those two fish fed 11 people that night.
