American football has its roots in Rugby.

I heard an ex NFL player say the only way to stop the head/brain injuries is to get rid of the helmets and change the way players tackle each other. Make it more like Rugby again

Yeah, the injuries all over are caused by the protective gear and the "athletes " motivation to push it to it's limits.

Money is the root of all evil, and "the force is strong in this one."

Jerry don't play that shut. You ain't going to see a lot of Cowboys taking a knee, unless it's in the end zone and they are pointing up.

BTW, Your boycott is as effective and sensless as the kneelers protests. You don't buy tickets, didn't watch much before
    ....who is gonna care?

    The Owners..

Overall NFL ratings for this season dropped by 9.7% compared to last season, according to data released by Nielsen on Thursday. This represents and even bigger slide than the 8% dip in ratings from 2015 to 2016.

That's a total of about 17%... That hurts when you're talking billions of dollars in revenue. they can't afford another near 10% drop or they're going to be in serious shit. You add onto it that they are making it for pansies making every stupid hit a penalty ... people are not watching anymore.. I haven't watched the past two seasons and I am a football fanatic.. College only for me right now.

I was a huge Saints fan and also followed the Texans. I did buy tickets, had NFL package on Direct TV and watched several games a week. I also had NFL network on satellite radio if I was away from TV. I had jerseys, autographs, clothes, floor mats in my truck, etc.

Last year, I cancelled the subscriptions and haven’t watched a game since the first week of the season. First Super Bowl I haven’t watched since ‘76.

I was happy to hear that they were going to stop the kneeling and fist raising during the off-season, but the news from preseason is that they have done nothing to stop it.

I support their right to protest, but I don’t have to support them doing it.

I just went back to baseball. Love the Astros.

Yep! Where my Horns at! College only for me, NFL churned away at any desire to watch them. This isn't just a recent thing, college ball just seems to have more soul behind it. Well of course, the Horns are our Pro team. Not to mention most of my family either attended or or taught there.

I watch as much as possible. I'll be in Waco watching Baylor attempt to win more than one game this year. Watched my first Baylor game in the late 60's. I was at the Miracle on the Brazos game in 1974 when Baylor beat UT for the first time in 50 years. I was at both Cotton Bowl games when Baylor won the SWC, and a few of the other bowls too.

I go to other venues too. SMU is close by so I'll watch one there this year again. That's a good place to watch a game. Really not a bad seat that I've seen. And Kyle Field is a great game experience too. A friend played for the Aggies, and I have gotten his tickets a couple times.

Then all the games I can watch on TV.

I quit watching Pro football long before not watching football was cool.

They were overpaid cry babies years before the kneeling started.

All my projects got put on hold when I got confined to the recliner. I'm working on getting back to 1/10 of what I used to do.
I hear you there... I had minor surgery on a toe late last year, amazing how much things backed up when I was ordered to keep it above my heart most of the day.
