Glad to hear from someone who's owned one. That gun has always intrigued me but I've never met someone who owned one so my only source on it is gun magazines and YouTube with their normal "its great" recommendation of every gun ever made.

I had one before. It was "okay." Decent DA/SA, but nothing exciting. I did not hate it, and it was not my favorite.

I have still seen some complaints about the 320. I personally would not want one. They sold those things to the public knowing they had issues, from what i have read. At the sig forum a few weeks ago, there was a story about a lawsuit filed by an LEO. He apprently was shot.

Get the Glock 19x :, if ya want a Glock.

1911 is THE anchor in your pistol collection. I have several hand guns and if I had to only have one, meaning if push came to shove me out the door and the SHHTF big time the ONLY gun under consideration if I can only take one hand gun is my 1911.

Just remember, when you are at day 13 at the Alamo and those little mo-fos are coming at ya full fu manchu and those plastic guns have melted down and the others got tossed when hard men resorted to their hands and fists you beat those mo-fos half to death with one hit up side the head with that 1911 and yea, maybe their win due to sheer numbers but they are gonna fight among themselves over who gets that big guys 1911 filled with the blood and bone of their brothers you beat the living chit out of in your dying breath..

I have an FDE P320. It feels great in my hand. It shoots where I point and it is very accurate.
The problem I have is my P320 is it ejects the brass straight rearward out of the top of the slide. The brass usually hits me just about the brim of my ball cap. Contacted Sig and they advised I should apply a heavy coat of lubricant on the pistol through the break-in period of 500 to 600 rounds. Did that. The condition remains.

I recently bought a couple of CZ P-07s. One in FDE and one in black.
For a polymer pistol, the P-07 is amazing. It is light, accurate, nice trigger, and it is a CZ so it feels great in the hand.

I really like the Glock G19, but the grip angle is uncomfortable and "2x4" feeling grip is not my cup of tea.
I carry a Gen 4 G19 in my car. It rides along with me because I know it will work if I ever need it. At that time, I will not care how it feels in my hand as long as it does it's job.

Man there are so many nice poly pistols out there. Buy the one you like. Then buy the others on your list later on. I never have read where it says you can one have one pistol.
I am lucky, my wife loves firearms also.

I have finally reached the point where I have more than I can remember. My collection stands at about 25 handguns and twelve long guns.
Last Saturday I was sorting through the six drawers in my gun cabinet where I keep my pistols. I came across a brand new unfired CZ SP-01 Phantom. I have no idea when or where I bought this pistol. It was like a Christmas morning back when I was a kid!!

Ha! I found a 22 pistol a while back. Totally forgot I had it, and I've never shot it. Felt like Christmas.

One time years ago I was looking to buy a pistol and was considering a glock. My Marine recon buddy tells me something akin to what you said. "naw, get a sig 228. If you ever have to pistol whip someone with that glock, its gonna fly apart. Seen it happen."

So I bought my first Sig. 228.

Well I did some more shooting. A buddy brought out a gen 4 G17, gen 5 G19, and a full size P320. My experience was about the same as it's been in the past. I'm not a fan of the gen 5 design at all. That cut out in the front of the grip bothered me the entire time I shot it. The 17 seemed fine, but was very forgettable. The P320 seemed fit me best. I ended up putting twice as many rounds through it than I did the 17 or 19.

I'd like to try a gen 4 19 but for my next purchase I've decided on the P320.

I think it'll do fine if I'm ever stuck in a shootout at the Alamo in a sharknado surrounded by zombies. I'll just keep the pistol-whipping to a minimum...

Depends on your viewpoint. Back in the day, when you saw a police officer with a full 1" diameter PPC barrel, significantly longer than the normal 4", on his revolver, you knew you'd found someone who really liked pistol-whipping people.

Any medium-good PPC gunsmith from the 1970s (or so) could tell you stories of building service revolvers with giant barrels for police officers who had had their clubs and saps taken away because they liked using them too much.

Back when police brutality was encouraged.

I have one of those but no way in hell would I carry it. It was setup for PPC shooting which is what I did. 6" long, 1" diameter Douglas barrel with a Bomar rib. Highly modified. 1.5" groups at 50 yds w/Federal wadcutters. Double action only. Interestingly enough Brownells still sells the barrels. Looks like the Bomar ribs are discontinued.

That's a PPC-only revolver, for sure. I'm simply pointing out that some people built the same gun with:
    • a heavier action to light off any primers,
    • retention of the single action function, and
    • no rib, even though that creates problems with putting on usable sights
to create a formidable club that sits in a holster.

Pistol whipping someone is generally a dumb thing to do. Anyone that knows anything about martial combat (not martial arts,) will tell you there are generally better ways to knock someone out. Secondly, which has already been mentioned, even if you are carrying a metal gun it's likely going to hurt the firearms functionality and accuracy. Again, a dumb thing to do.

besides, that's what night sticks, billy clubs, and rocks were made for.

Never hit a guy so many times your hands hurt to the point you didn't want to hit them again?
