Looking at butt stocks for an AR15 varmint rifle chambered in .223. Has an 18” fluted barrel and wears an SWFA SS 10X. Upper is riding a standard M&P 15 lower for now and I need to swap out the collapsible stock for something better.
The rifle will usually be shot off a bipod with rear bag but I’m still trying to Lee the weight reasonable. I’d also like my 10y/o daughter to be able to shoot it. (She can shoot, issue would be LOP).
I’ve been leaning towards the Luth AR MBA-3. My only concerns are reports that it’s “flimsy”. I’ve also read the the check riser can get in the way of the charging handle. Seems to be a bigger issue with AR10s though.
My other solution would be a PRS gen 3. I’ve had a Gen 2 and had no issues with it’s quality, but It will definitely put the LOP beyond what my daughter can deal with.
Opinions?
Also briefly looked at an XLR Tac Lite. Doesn’t look like it would ride a bag very well.
